All is not yet lost in the beleaguered kingdom of the giants. This turn I managed to beat off an attack on my capital from Eriu, despite an impressive rain of Thunder Strikes from his Tuathas.

Still, the armies of Vanheim and Pythium are closing in…

And so the Machakan spins another web of lies. And their friends, the Eriuns, that sought to profit from Machakan dishonesty, now ponder their fate. The world is closing in on cheats, and honest Man, who battles against them in his own lands, will be there to look upon their defeat.

MAN

  1. I have to tip my hat to the ‘web’ pun!
  2. An elegant alternative to our usual “Eriuians”.

Monitor Lizard update notice:

I update Monitor Lizard with a couple of bug fixes and released it (and the source) under the GNU license. If anyone gives it a try, I’d love some feedback. Either way, I love using it and thanks again for sharing the source Marcin.

I probably won’t be updating it anymore unless someone has a specific feature request or finds a really annoying bug.

This message has been removed by the Eriu Minister of Propaganda.

Matt, Monitor Lizard works great. Thanks for sharing it.

Pax Ermor:

So everyone is at war but for 3 countries or so. Abyssian, Man and Machaka are fighting solo fights, but not well. It’s 3 vs 1 in the Ashdod showdown. And R’lyeh appears to have sortied to land again but where?

Looks like some big fights in the areas away from me.

He he he trash one pretender… at least he should be toast in the next few turns… Horrormark ftw… he got about 6 or seven horrormark spells on it… OO

Hail Rlyeh, Rlyeh rules the waves! la la la

Machaka really screwed the pooch against Man and then R’lyeh came ashore. Looks like a short game for the spider folk.

Inquisitor

The main C’tissian army in the north-west has been annihilated. Routed by Jomon mages breaking the siege of their stronghold with massed Earthquakes, Rains of Stones, and Wrathful Skies, the lizards fled only to find their escape route cut off by a second army that had sailed across the narrow sea via Pocket Ship (and which was supported by a flying Dai Oni).

Jomon troops are now one province away from the C’tissian capital, and the final victory point. Only the capital garrison stands in the way of the Rising Sun.

Mercutio, did you make up your mind about going AI? If so, is there any chance you could put the change through this turn? I’d like to see what havoc the AI can wreak on the eastern front, even though I’m pretty confident of victory at this point.

I’m afraid my Dom 3 still hangs on the ‘Waiting for Game Info’ screen whenever I try to connect to Inquisitor. Which is strange, since you can connect and I can connect fine to Pax Ermor.

Just wanted to say hats off to Mercutio for putting up a smart, stubborn fight despite being completely surrounded by three enemies. And this is not to announce the imminent demise of the Ashdod kindgom, either; many giants still stomp around on the lands.

Hmmm. Try opening a second instance of Dominions 3, then connecting to the server with both windows.

This is my problem as well (I mainly want to see how bad the breakout from the siege was), but the old computer that D3 is on can’t handle two instances at once.

I’m pretty sure this is over, especially with the seeming declining interest in Inquisitor.

Way to go, Jomon!

(Note to self: Next time, backstab earlier.)

The diplomats of the Pythium People have been hard at work to make sure a couple hundred of dead legionaries did not die with out cause. Plan A was to led several hundred more die and throw in some cavalry, priests, and slaves to really make the sacrifice for the Empire worthwhile. However, when Ashdod came begging for an abatement to the slaughter… it was granted. Their diplomats did, afterall, agree to wear dresses and dance the macarena before some of our drunker and more lonely troops. Oh, and give us some more practical concessions.

The Pythium people are gladden to know that there will be peace in the North. Though their are rumors that Ashdod still fights Vanheim and Erui, our lack of participation renders this irrelevant as far as they’re concerned. Long live peace.

On another note, the minister of foreign affairs (also called First General of Warmongering) has called for solicitations from neighboring nations to determine who should be attacked next.

Mistspell:

It’s been a long game but I think the inevitable rise of Ulm should be acknowledged. Pan is greatly reduced having just 2 gem producing provinces and income problems. TC was just smashed in the South and only Marignon hasn’t suffered in the current fight.

Do my honorable opponents wish to end this conflict or do folks wnat to play on? i’ve enjoyed the game but it’s becoming a bit tedious on my turns and I really don’t see how I can lose now after the big massacre of TC troops (I actually got stronger inthe battle capturing celestial soldiers adn magical artifacts and lost only a few regular ulmish troops).

What say Marignon, Pan and TC?

Anyone else not able to connect to Pax Ermor?

I had to open three instances of it to finally connect. But it worked.

Usually multiple attempts gets me in, but it isn’t working this time. I sent Kraaze an email asking for a server reset, so lets see what happens.

I’m all for ending this. I’ve just been pointlessly fucking around in the water.
