The server was suppose to remain on until everyone had taken their turn, then we patch. What was taken down was the timer and quickhost. If you can’t connect, by all means give Nick “Kraaze” a PM and ask him to check the server. I’ll hold off asking him to patch until we get this sorted out.
So what’s happening with Fifth of November? I don’t think I’ve gotten any emails or PMs about it. I sent in my pretender over a week ago.
I put together all the pretenders and settings and players and emailed the packet off the Marcin. I assumme when he has time he’ll put the game together.

Don’t put it on me man, your email only got to me yesterday :P
Anyway, I had a bit of fun trying to remember how the heck to set up the game, and I even briefly thought about joining but … there’s just too many damn games out right now.
Anyway, the game should be up at froggyfish.net, port 8085. The status should be available here, and automatic emailing should be working. Mind you, last time I set up the game I was at a different house, at a different job, with a different router and a different PC so … fingers crossed!
Everything works on my end (although I have yet to patch, because I’m in Pax Ermor). Thanks so much, GA and Marcin!

Seems to work, first turn is in (about 88 hours left). Very nice map, nations seem evenly placed.
Note: I have patched.
I sent Nick an email last evening about Pax Ermor. No answer yet, so presumably Nick is just as unreachable as the server. I’m sure he will get things squared away as soon as he is able to do so.

Baruk broke it. He patched first and submitted a 3.21 turn to a 3.20 server. Which caused the server to choke and die.
I’ve presented resolution options to Greatatlantic, the admin of this game. I’m sure he’ll let you know how we are going to fix it.

At a minimum, we assess Shinuyama a 15-yard penalty, plus loss of down.
(Hetzer: don’t worry, this is an unabashedly US-centric post)
The server is not patched yet.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SUBMIT A TURN WITH A PATCHED DOMINIONS GAME!!!
Baruk attempted this and it crashed the server. His turn has been deleted and its up to him to resubmit (soon) with a 3.20 patch game.
After this, Nick “Kraaze” will host the server and then patch, at which point everyone should play with a 3.21 game. Are we all clear on this? Better be. There are still a couple of players who haven’t submitted turns, besides baruk. If you’re not going to, let me know but don’t be surprised if we autohost with out you.
Something to keep in mind, though its been a while since I’ve done it, you can copy the game contents to another folder while you patch the original (its under 400 MB if my memory serves) allowing you to play both versions as necessary.
points at Baruk and laughs Smooth move, Ex-Lax! :P

uh oh! but i have submitted my turn? right? because ive already patched and dont want to go to the hassle with repatching…
Monitor Lizard to the rescue!
Abysia, Bandar Log, and Shinuyama are the ones with turns still pending.

I’ve replayed my turn with patch 3.20, just Abysia left.
I had done my turn initially with 3.20, but checking my turn later on after I had patched to 3.21 seemed to cause the problem.
Pretty sure Abysia is norkled so if we could get Pax Ermor back under way, that’d be great! Then I could take my turn in Nov5 without having to copy my folder or whatever sort of magic it takes to play a patched game.
I’m still slowly making my turns… :) But I dn’t have a problem staling on this one either as I’m finished. I’m just playing around with things for my turns…
edit: glad to see at least one person is using my dom3 tool. :)

The point right now is that the timer is off, so staling on this one means the turn never hosts…
And yes, I use Monitor Lizard all the time. If I were clever, I’d make Monitor lizard a link, but I’m either not that clever, or too lazy. Very useful little program, though - thanks to you and the author of the previous version (Marcin, was it?)
