No problem at all man. I don’t like delaying people and didn’t realize I was doing so. I kind of gave up on that game and was just taking turns here and there with the rest of them staling.

Last I heard people didn’t like it when you just went AI, so I wasn’t doing that. :)

I don’t think anyone minds if you go AI when you’re down to just a couple of provinces and a few troops - the other players would prefer that over constant staling.

Going AI when you have a largish nation is another matter. Everyone would be royally pissed at me if I turned Ermor over to the AI right now.

Which is kind of odd, actually. Does that mean that people think the AI would be harder to defeat??? I know I have heard the complaint that the AI would be a real annoyance - doing things like building lots of random armies of local independent troops and invading all over the place at random places and times. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t add at least some of that behavior in as a human player. If people find it so irritating, then maybe it can be an effective tactic.

AI is generally much easier to defeat. People don’t like it b/c it throws out past history. For example, Ermor AI might violate any NAP or throw out a previous war with Shin. It can be very frustrating to have worked to establish good relations with a country and then have them go AI and just screw you.

Or the AI stops a war with the my opponent and launches another weird invasion. If you’re surrounding and dying like Abyssia is, I think AI is fine b/c it will just be easier for ulm

Pythium would perhaps not be too happy to see Ermor go AI, with his main rival Bandar Log in the best position to capitalise.
Also, most players I expect would rather fight a human and lose - but see usage of some interesting tactics, than beat an AI and learn nothing new.

I saw a computer PD defense do better than I could as Abyssia. It was rather humiliating. Basically, the AI kept casting rage at the PD. Meanwhile a Caelum Virtue pretender with 29 defense etc was killing them. But the heat from the Abyssia troops exhausted the Virtue, left her unconcious and eventually they beat her down. If not for the rage, there would have been a route. Interesting way to learn.

I was only slightly less facetious about the idea of adding “AI-like” tactics to my human plans.
