I was serious. When I first opened the file, I thought the same thing you did on some of the tabs, since the creator saved the file with some of the horizontal sliders not fully positioned to the left. Scrolling the horizontal sliders to the left revealed the values. Are you still not seeing any values?
Atlantic Fervor is now up at Llama Server and players can submit their pretenders at any time. I can still change settings if anyone wants to move to do so. Be sure to read the FAQ and player’s will probably have to download the Six Lands map, which can be accessed from server’s website. I’ll set a tentative date of August 20th to begin. If our recently married comrade needs more time, fine. But lets not all strive to be the slowest common denominator.
As always: www.llamaserver.net
The slowest common denominator will be me, as I’ll be away from the 22nd to the 26th and unable to take turns; starting before then should be fine, however, as long as the timer isn’t on while I’m gone.
Question for the experts:
During a battle, if I have units with a commander who can’t cast spells, can those units receive spells from other commanders? Or can units receive spells only from their commander? I’d like to cast a spell on my archers, but I’m not sure if those archers need to be commanded by the commander who can cast the spell.
Direct Command not required. Being within range (and a bit of luck from the AI’s targeting priorities) is.
Spellcasters can cast spells on any troops. Getting them to target the exact ones you want can be tricky though. The AI that controls your commander is delivered to every battle by a little yellow bus, and often makes some very questionable decisions about when and how to follow the orders given.
To increase the chances of your caster doing what you want, make sure that the caster has an enough gems to cast the spells requested, is standing very near or in the midst of the troops that should be affected, and if possible don’t have a lot of extra gems or items that might give it a confusing array of options and tempt it into improvising.
hmm… lots of talk on archers and buffing archers by human player Mysterio.
I’ve run into someone- not saying who- but within 2 turns there will be heavy action on the front lines.
How is that Advanced game going? I dont think it has started and it would be intersting to here from keynote players
Trust me…I’m not a threat to anyone. I seem to be surrounded by provinces with steroid-using independents. I think I received a crappy population roll in those provinces when the game was generated. It’s a conspiracy, I say!
Pretender submitted for Atlantic Fervor.
Atlantic Fervor has not started as one of our players is out due to a honeymoon until tomorrow. Then, Idar is going to have to leave soon (yes, get your pretender in beforehand). We’ll start as soon as we can, and I at least will post updates.
The honeymoon is over! I recommend having one of those. In Switzerland.
I just knew I’d get Ermor. I haven’t a clue. Can I join the newbie game?*
:O
Hehehe, of all the nations picked, I thought Ermor was the weakest. I mean, Yomi has some big challenges to overcome, too, but I thought I had a workable strategy and was kind of hoping I’d draw them. My advice, get an awake SC, build a lot of Augur Elders, and than go to town with Fire evocations. Might work.
Diplomacy is the only way I survive long in Dom games. I’ll try that, along with my usual “try stuff” strat!
We in Vanheim would like to say that we completely did not get stomped by the indies in the second province we found, so please strike that from your minds.
Difficult!

I have to say I like using the score graph to creep on the other players… it lets me know just how badly I’m going to get killed later.
PS when you encounter Abysia for the first time, please don’t blindly attack me. I’m willing to negotiate non agggession pacts. I’ll even throw in free blood slaves!
atlantic fervour:
late and feeling stupid - where do i submit me pretender? can’t see nothing at llamaserver
sorry in advance for being a ditz
evil
Welcome to my pain. My thoughts on the first indy province I attacked: “WTF? Who knew heavy cavalry were so hard to kill? They use how many types of attacks per round? Oh, hell…why not just give them an even half dozen and call it good!?”
I dunno. Even though it’s my first MP (and SP) game, I prefer not knowing how well others are doing. The “not knowing” adds to the tension. Also, I’m also open to diplomacy, for we are the honorable nation of Man!
BTW, for the experts, what does the mound of dirt with a cross on top represent in the Hall of Fame (?) screen? I’m assuming it means that commander is dead.
Yes, that cross means the general is dead- my general by the way.
And she had just earned the heroic trait of “Heroic Obesity”. Odd, but then again it was a general who rode a flying horse, so I could see that.
I love the charts because(well I like charts) although it gives you direct numbers, it is pure numbers- so if I have a bunch of garbage units my chart will be huge, but it can be misleading- as province defense and elite units do not show up there
Can you explain “cumulative” VPs? Or tell me to read the manual?
