Yes, I thought about it. But that would require uninstalling Dom3 and installing it again, than patching it again later. I felt it would be too much hassle for the uncertain results.

Androphag:
Whoops. something has gone very, very wrong for Ulm. Perhaps Abyssia’s spoils of Helheim will still be there!
I must say kudos to Helheim for however they pulled off their miracle rally of sorts!

Crap, that’s a lot of stealthed units.
edit: but it isn’t the quantity that bothers me, it’s the quality. The freaking 'Heim nations rock in this game.

Preach on.
In a few different games, I’m fighting the 'heims and it’s the same high bless, invis cavalry strategy. I’ve won two big fights against them…once when one of the armies ran into a high pd and I arrowed a ton of them. Second fight was this game when they ran smack into my pretender…they might have won except i killed their leaders about 10 glam cav had to run.
I’m trying to figure out their weaknesses. I know lack of troops is one, but not sure what else there is.
Jeesh, I’ve been Helheimed. Now I know what everyone is complaining about. They infiltrated me and suddenly little groups of 20 invisible F9/W9 blessed cavalry are everywhere taking my provinces. It’s a coordinated attack with Acrosephale as well, so I suspect I’m going to get swarmed under very quickly.
Ah well, can’t win them all.
Unfortunately, all those troops were in the fort when you stormed it. Only my own stupidity kept them from all fighting together (forgot to double-check that no one was ordered to either sneak or hide).
Doesn’t matter - even if I had fully defeated the Ulmish army, my Helhirdlings just get melted by the Abysian heat aura.

From Yngvar, Mavernibane, Prophet of Sven Vanson,
Today even our bloodthursty god is sated, a mighty battle was done. The ulmish brought their hordes on. There where 5 Commanders and 358 Ulmish warriors and maidens, between them and Anihilation stood only the chosen few, the wolves of the north and their old trusted allies the dwarves. The ulmish arrows darkend the sky and with a mighty battlecry they charged on, but our army stood firm and delivered a deathblow never heard about until then or perhaps never after.
With a howl our wolves charged in the lines of ulm and the blood flowed freely on both sides. As the dust settled in a red sludge 288 dead ulmish and one of her commanders lay on the ground.
Smelling blood even a smattering of lowly mavernis come to attack our tired wolves, they where sended back to the cow.

You misspelled “took advantage of the confusion to slip out the back door and head south”.
And they aren’t proper Marverni, they’re just the local boys who’re good with toy slingshots that some recruiter fooled with a story about martial glory.
I liked the news…and yeah, those Thunder! guys have made some mistakes. I say we eradicate them off the face the map!
Hmmmm…
Though, the Giants should pretty much have that in hand. I made some really bad strategic moves and couple that with my pretender being a bunch of guess work (my very first MP pretender!), it’s not going to be much longer. :D
This has been a lot of fun though. I can’t wait to do another. Especially since I think my CTis guys are going to smacked around anytime now.
Apprentice though. I love me some Pangea. Forest King FTW!
Looking for someone to take over my C’tis in Boomerlunder. My December is just too hectic. I thought I would be able to manage it and my family, but I am opening a new office this month and I am already strapped for time.
It’s late age, not too bad positioning or strategy for LA. Anyone interested please PM or Email me.
Did you get the news before you played your Turn? I still have not seen the battle yet, but I gather you won…
Last thing I saw, we moved around a bit and missed each other, haven’t connected our large armies yet. I’m dreadfully curious what’s going to happen at the next turn.
Edit: And I see you haven’t taken your turn yet. Get 'er done! :)
Hetzer made it seem that we had had a battle outside my fort and there was going to be a siege(which would mean you won the battle with the PD he mentioned). Since you had not re-attacked following your prior withdrawl,I assumed you had done so in the last turn result I have not yet viewed.
Should play the turn sometime after 9PM EST tonight…
I think I have a different schedule than many here in that weekends create less time to play than weeknights.:)

I am pretty sure I saw your commanders get knocked down at the end when you had just a few Vans left on the field.

Lictor - Ok, there’s this one province, two moves from my capital. I took it early on. Moved on, took the next one. The very next turn, I get the barbarian horde event in it, and lose it.
Ok. After building another couple armies, I scrape together a force to go retake it. Then that army heads off to join up with another army that took some casualties. The VERY NEXT TURN, I get the barbarian horde event in that same province again, and lose it again.
I have had no other barbarian horde events anywhere else.
Next time, I’m sending in an army that is going to just SIT there until the place has a fort built.
My copy has arrived. I am fully prepared to be stomped on by my fellow QT3ers.
Odd. I happened to have a scout in this province, and while the battle was spectacular (both of you have much cooler units than poor LE Abyssia), and it looked like the Van leaders made it through to the end of the battle. This is with a 3.01 client. Weird that many of us have been submitting turns in 3.01 without too much ill effect.
Of course, since my video card at home is in the process of dying, I’m watching these battles through this bizarre screen clutter, so perhaps the fog of war has left me confused.

You may be correct, I was doing this from memory. I go back and try to follow the last dreges of the fight.
I think you are either mistaken, or you are runing 3.0 like our host did. Because with 3.1 patch on my computer all commanders but one have survived.
