The new site has been active since at least the character creator was released a few weeks ago. Supposedly the old forums shut down today, though they were still up last I checked.
I don’t even want to know what the new site’s going to be like later tonight and tomorrow.
I’ve never had very good luck with 24 hour stores like Meijer and Walmart having games right away or even on release day. Inevitably the person working the electronics department will have no idea what you’re talking about anyway. One good thing about release dates becoming somewhat standardized for games these days is not feeling compelled to call around to every store a day or two before the official release to see if someone had gotten it early.
So how is the cloth map? I went digital and decided against the map but wondering if it was purty or not.

Scroll up and/or change to the previous page, I just posted on this.
So does anyone know if Gamestop is selling this one at midnight? If not, I’m not going to get in to get it 'til late afternoon tomorrow and by then I imagine the CEs will be sold out.
After looking around, it appears that the Blood Dragon Armor does indeed come with every new copy of the game, and is not a pre-order incentive.

Apparently not on a wide scale. It’s not a corporate directed midnight launch title. There was a thread on the official forums where there were a few reports about stores here and there doing it, though.
And in fact, about 90 minutes ago, I received a notice that my CE has been shipped. Woohoo! – somewhat less provisionally. :)
That’s normal. For release date delivery you often won’t get confirmation of shipping until early in the morning on the day it actually arrives.

For those of you who bought it on Steam, it’s available for pre-loading now.
It strikes me that they had to pay people overhead to organize all this shit and keep track of it. Are they really gaining that much money and consumer interest?
I guess now that the game is here, it’s time to stop picking at Bioware’s bizarre business practices.
Wait, so the boxed deluxe edition doesn’t come with the Warden’s Keep? That’s stupid.
The digital distribution CE versions do, all other CE (and non-CE of course) versions do not.

Remember, EA owns bioware now and EA is banal and evil. Count your blessings they backed away from mountain dew and axe body spray ads. If EA had purchased bioware earlier, they certainly wouldn’t have permitted them to develop a hardcore PC-style RPG at all. Not because it wouldn’t be profitable, clearly a bioware RPG would be profitable, but because they would expect a faster and larger return on their investment with a contemporary setting and lower aspirations.
I just got the “shipped” notice from Amazon, with expected delivery tomorrow.
Unfortunately, UPS always delivers at 4:30 or later, and the kids have a half-day at school Wednesday. Doesn’t the school district understand I need to set aside a full day of just-released-new-Bioware-RPG-indulging?
My 360 CE (Amazon) recently switched over to “Items Shipping Soon”. I’m thinking I will actually get it tomorrow. I’m pumped!
Edit: Nevermind. It was my stupid strategy guide that’s already gone to “Shipping Soon”. BOOOO!

Eeesh. I was looking over the game box as it was installing, and I saw this under the “Includes downloadable character and quest!” blurb.
“One time use code available with full retail purchase. Expires April 30, 2010”
I thought it was cheesy enough they were putting that in as a DLC code instead of just putting it in the game itself, now they’ll be taking it away entirely after half a year? Ugh.
Man, how did some Prime members get the game today and mine just shipped at lunch? I DEMAND EQUALITY!
Ouch. That is pretty bad. I wasn’t planning on purchasing this game until I’d gone through other RPGs in my backlog first (Mass Effect, The Witcher, Fallout 3 GOTY edition). I guess I won’t be getting as big a bargain when I do finally buy the game as I thought I would. At least if I want this additional content. I wonder if the Stone Prisoner DLC will still be $15 by then?
