Looks like your typical Xena fare.

Yeah, I do too. That’s why I wanted to go Warrior. I don’t know, I’ll see how I feel about it once I have the damn thing in my hands.

And yes, I’m not a fan of the Xena aesthetic.

Hmmm, I started looking into my class in earnest but found that their forums broke all their google search links into their forums. Clicking a link does not take you to a thread but rather just the top level Bioware forums. So when I am searching for information (like, can an Arcane Warrior use 2handers) and google returns daforums.bioware.com (which if oft does) both the link and cached link are busted. Seems a terrible thing to squander google results like that.

I can’t really answer your question, but I’d be surprised if you couldn’t use a 2hander with your arcane warrior.

I don’t believe arcane warrior can use 2 hander due to str restriction most likely.

I did manage to get 1 arcane warrior only sword which is really bad ass.

I believe that the first Arcane Warrior talent allows the character to use their Magic score in place of Strength for /any/ item. So as long as there aren’t any other restrictions on the 2h weapon, an Arcane Warrior should be able to use it.

I am kinda tossed up between Arcane Warrior or Reaver as my “main” specialization. I really like the look of 2h weapons so I would be sad if I had to give them up. I was just going to go Reaver but I thought the points raised here about the Mage class being a better option, given the companions offered to you, was strong.

I’m so glad that they have put the extra effort in to capture the advantages of each platform. Most developers would have just made one version for both.

So far the PC version is running like a dream. Locked in 60fps with 8x fsaa and everything maxed. Loading, saving, etc all are fast and the controls seem well done and convenient. It’s like NWN done correctly, no more annoying camera controls.

My one complaint so far is the odd low resolution texture or two, which can be a bit jarring when everything else looks so nice.

Anyone else having trouble getting it to take your blood dragon armor code?

Arcane warrior combat magic:

While this mode is active, the arcane warrior channels magic inward, trading increased fatigue for an attack bonus and the ability to use spellpower to determine combat damage. Aura of Might and Fade Shroud improve the effects. Additionally, regardless of whether the mode is active, an arcane warrior who has learned this spell may use the magic attribute to satisfy the strength requirement to equip higher-level weapons or armor.

So basically their spellpower = strength when it is active and for gear all times. The only question is if they still need dex which sounds like it affects chance to hit and attack speed (among other things). It sounds like they probably do unless the attack bonus mentioned is just good enough.

I’ll be going elf arcane warrior myself, possibly with blood magic secondary.

Why not? I thought there was no level cap in the game. Has that changed?

The game manual says no level cap - but I’ve heard most play through’s end around level 18-22 so if you are in the middle of the road (20) that might be what he’s referring to.

What women wouldn’t want her bits and pieces to be available for fast and easy access?

FYI, I hate you all. Here I am all unemployed and you’ve convinced me to buy this game.

Nothing like an epic 100+ hour RPG to save you from navel-contemplation. You should be happy, now you have something to do!

What system specs, and what resolution?

Guess I didn’t pay attention either as I purchased through Impulse only to learn they don’t even offer a preload. So I get to connect to my system from work tomorrow at noon to kick off the download. Hopefully it will be downloaded by the time I get home.

Thanks a lot Matt-I am certainly torn between that and the possibility of an arcane warrior, which would be different from what I normally play, give me a chance to nuke some critters, and still satisfy my sword and armor itch. Very tempting. Looks like I will have one more night to decide!

If it wasn’t for that 20% code from Impulse, (as well as diversify my DD game providers, and support some of the awesome things Brad does) I so would have went Steam, who in this case has a much better implementation. LogMeIn FTW!

Well create your characters now with the character creator. Save yourself those last few seconds!

My Elfin Mage is ready (always been a magic geek, shoulda named my character Milamber or something)
