No need to skim at all! There is in fact a whole thread devoted to the exact topic of you question.

Metacritic now has a score and a list of reviews to look at.

GameSpot gave the PC version 95, PS3 90, 360 an 85, so it rated them in that order.

The console versions are, frankly, gimped versions of the PC game, especially if you like tactical combat. If you’re more into dialogue/story-telling and find hard battles frustrating rather than fun, you may like the console versions better, since they contain the same dialogue/story-telling but easier, less tactical combat.

You don’t have to use skill points to unlock tactic slots - you can buy additional ones in that fashion, but your number will automatically also get increase for leveling up.

Sweet, that sounds much better.

I’m sitting here refreshing my UPS tracking page (“Out for delivery” as of 7:17 AM) so that I know the instant it gets delivered. I don’t remember the last game I was this excited for. Oblivion, maybe?

that only apply to the main character though, none of the other characters gain tactic slot without putting points in combat tactics.

Man, I want hard battles! I just don’t have the option for the PC. Every time someone says this I cringe a little. Maybe playing on hard is the best option here!

Come on Tom,
I need this info now since I’m gonna start playing!

Agreed. I know I’m going to end up starting over about 10 times because I keep nerfing my character(s).

Impulse download is up.

“Up next?” Tom, you sound like a newspaperman pimping his Thursday column!

Unlocking on Steam now!

Ugh. 15 gigs. Not playing this today it seems.

31-percent downloaded on Impulse. Became available at 10 Pacific.

Can’t wait to play again. Doubt my earlier saves work though. :(

Take one drink when someone complains about them unlocking it early because he made meticulous plans to be ready at 3pm.

Every character will get additional tactic slots at certain levels. The levels they get them at seem to be different for each character though.

Anyone gotten a copy from Gamestop yet? How are the pre-order bonuses? If crap I may just release my pre-order and wait for the $40 Black Friday deal – I’ve got plenty to do until Thanksgiving anyhow.

It looks like the social bioware site is having trouble handling the traffic. I am trying to input all the codes I got from my pre-ordered Gamestop collector’s edition, and the website is not loading.

Good point, it’s now or never, man!

I’m sorry, but once I see bare midriff I am out. “Better than a chainmail bikini” doesn’t mean that I’ll be happy to see it on my character. Luckily I should be able to just increase my strength and go with medium armor which I find much more aesthetically pleasing.
