At this point in time, they are isolated. I flat out wouldn’t play a game that had user-driven character creation and told me I couldn’t swing a huge sword because of the gender I chose no matter what the armor looked like. I know there are plenty of games where you choose from a certain number of pre-made characters and generally I am not exactly happy with the number of or type of roles the female characters get in those games, but that isn’t as bad as restricting a user-generated character would be.
Really? You don’t just enter the code on xbox.com or on the 360 dashboard?
Backlash against long steam decrypting time!
That’s not true - the other characters also get tactic slots occasionally when leveling. Frequency and quantity may vary by character, however.
Talk about frustration. Picked up a CE at BB and it won’t install. Gets to the unpacking of the .rar files and quits saying it can’t find a file or disk is removed. Simply will not install. Anyone have any ideas?

my Alistair is lvl 16 with 5 slots, that 1 extra slot is because I put 1 points in combat tactics…
Not that it really matters, but that’s the most uninspired and generic fantasy world map I’ve ever seen.
However, I’m sure the game will be lovely and I can’t wait to get home and play.
I’m trying to copy the contents to a hard drive and install from there, but it’s taking forever…might indeed be a bad disk.
Did the game bomb?
It is nowhere to be found on Steam chart.
Heh, I noticed that too. It’s just an error related to the game becoming available I think. Prior to that the deluxe edition was first and the regular edition was third.
Tom actually cited the comfy couch as a reason he decided to play the 360 version of DA:O. That and the fact that he had a free copy of the 360 version and not the PC version.
the process of entering your keys seems kind of crappy to say the least. Having trouble getting the social site to recognize my keys.
I can’t even get the site to load to try entering my keys.
Most Hoplites also wore some sort of heavy torso covering. That’s why skirmishers came into their own when a phalanx broke; they could run down the fleeing Hoplites – who often were not desperately shedding that heavy armor because it represented the majority of their wealth.
yeah it is VERY slow.
when trying to redeem my promo codes (linked to when you click the redeem code button in the game) it gives me both an error and success message…
" Code not recognized, please check that you have entered it correctly.
Code successfully redeemed. "
I have to admit i find it kind of ironic that the reason i am not playing it currently is not because steam is overloaded and died, but because all DA related bioware sites are dead and i can’t redeem any codes.

EA’s servers are completely borked. I finally managed to register the game, but you can’t get anywhere near the pages needed to get the DLC.
Buying PC games on launch day is usually a bad idea.
For anyone who bought the Steam deluxe (or other) editions: are the various bits of DLC included in the Steam download, or do you still have to go through EA/Bioware’s login crap to claim them? I ask because I don’t seem to have received the necessary codes or whatever in my e-mail, so I’m hoping it’s the former.
Do continue, this nerdfight historical lesson interests me, given that I chose Super Saver shipping. :)
For my Steam Deluxe edition, I had to register the codes on the Bioware site before it started downloading the DLC and pre-order stuff. On my slow connection, that’s another hour or so of downloading before I can continue playing.
