Yes most likely a permanent thing at character creation, just like tats and beards.

In the promo vid though, it is something he does during combat, and smears across his face with two fingers, like Billy vs the Predator.

Not a huge thing, but funny his little combat mark is there during sex, in a 10 year saga, where he may or may not have been in combat in the last month.

I’m sure the fan fic writers are already surmising he is using blood powers to power his umm weapon.

I just hope that in DA2 when you get friendly (really just friendly, as in no sex just friends) with a male companion he suddenly doesn’t start calling you “my love” like Alistair did in DA1…
