Dragon Quest IX: Defender of the Starlit Sky announced for the

It’s not an Einhander sequel, it’s a Silpheed sequel. It came out in Japan already & kinda disappeared.

Ah, Slipheed- that was it. Thanks. Guess it’s not getting a US release.

To wit:

-Though the game includes a 4-player online co-op mode, it isn’t an online game, that is a game that revolves around online as its modus operandi. Yuji Horii is making in the same epic way he makes all the single player DQ games and his focus is on that and equalling that level of quality.

-Kusanagi (famous talent) remarked that the game could be released this Christmas and felt finished. Sugiyama and he got caught up in killing monsters when Horii said to come to the cave, while Hino from Level 5 went to a town to show it off to everyone because he wanted to show off his team’s hard work.

-Your avatars change with equipment changes and though nothing has been announced, multiple outlets have remarked that the standard DQ jobs looked to be in effect there, signalling the game might have a set-up close to Ruida’s Tavern from DQ3, which for the unitiated, worked just like the character creation rosters in oldschool RPGs like Bard’s Tale and Might and Magic.

-Gigadein, hoimi and such were in full effect and a radius appeared asking where the caster wanted to cast the spell.

-The menu at the demo showed the usual options for items, strength and spells, with the additions of “connection”, “talk” and “system”.
