I am also in the camp that would have preferred a DD2 title. God just thinking about this game makes me want to play it again.Who’s got some decent pawns to swap? Lets friend up! =)

On the other hand, I could not care less about a DMC5 announcement but then again, I imagine DMC5 people are saying the exact same thing about Dragon’s Dogma…

We’re all much more mature than that and happy to play both games from a great game designer.

DMC5 first, obviously. It’s been 11 years to 7 for Dragon’s Dogma.

OH sure Tim… take the high road. Now I have guilt!

I’m sure they are great games, and the style of the genre is very cool. I’ve just never been able to get into the speed ARPG/Combat thingy. Bounced off of Bayonetta too.

Yeah, I’m excited about both. DMC 5 is fantastic, and CAPCOM is on a roll lately (see Monster Hunter World), so it’s likely the best possible time to work on Dragon’s Dogma 2. ;)

Didn’t a DMC game came out in 2013? I think I got it in a bundle, played it for 30 minutes, and threw it in the “not for me” folder.

That was DmC Devil May Cry, a reboot-spinoff (made by Ninja Theory instead of CAPCOM) that is basically ignored and/or vilified by fans of the series.

I played it and I liked it (well, most of it), but indeed it doesn’t have the same feel as DMC 4 and 5. It is similar, but something does feel off compared to the mainline games.

Fair enough. I’ve never gotten along well enough with any DMC game to be able to tell the difference, suffice it to say.

Dragons Dogma is probably one of the best RPG-style games, even with its quirky UI, I have played on PC, so a sequel would be nice.

Itsuno threatened to resign 5 or 6 years ago. Now Capcom is scared and will let him do what he wants. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is surely next!

Itsuno already onto a new project. Will it be DD2?

Make it so.

Hopefully a PC release immediately this time.

It was recently gifted to me and I am struggling to get over the UI and horrible map. Also it has the absolute worst fishing of any game I’ve ever played.

It has fishing? Cant remember doing that ever.

Hmm, yea UI/Map might be bad, but if you’ve played Gothic games you’ll pull through :)

Best part in the game is the companion system.

I think I said this already in the streaming thread but, for whatever it’s worth, the general trajectory of the game is to get better and better IMO. If you can sort of enjoy it early on, my guess is you’ll really enjoy it once you get further. Now, if you’re too put off at the outset, the good stuff may not be enough to tip the balance, so YMMV.

It then got kind of boring and shallow for me at the end. That middle phase was the best part.

I forgot the PC release was delayed. Capcom is still doing that with Monster Hunter World. Very weird these days.

I honestly think Bitterblack Island is the best part, personally, though I enjoyed all of it.

Wow! I found it impenetrable and gave up. I had no idea what I was doing and kept getting stomped.

I mean, you had gotten to an appropriate level first, right? It doesn’t scale, so if you go too early you just get flattened.

I’m going to blame Tim for getting my hopes up if this new project has, in fact, nothing to do with Dragon’s Dogma.

LK I don’t recall if I mentioned this last night but (even though I love mouse and kb) this game really needs a controller. I hate that there isn’t a better control scheme. I mean aiming in archery is better in mouse kb but … everything else is better on a controller. I bought a controller (finally) for this game. I probably mentioned it, but I’ve had a long day.
