Crazy idea in the spirit of the last two posts:
If we have a handful of players who love lance design, we could let them design as many lances as we need and then randomly assign them to players?
How about the worst Mech design possible?
You design a lance and then the other player has to use it. If you win, you advance.
There would have to be some rules, like all tonnage must be used, and maybe, a max ammo per missile weapon or something just to keep mechs from being walking bombs.

My opponent is going to get a set of really nice large laser boats with no armour or heat sinks.
No, you really need to get armor. Ablative armor. That is to say, 40 tons of AC 20 ammo. :D
