Good in theory but I will need to read the first five before I buy #6, and that will not be anytime soon, if ever. I tend to skip around a lot in my reading.

Your daily reminder that a new book in Seanan McGuire’s Wayward Children series is available today only. Today: book 4.

You guys are doing yeoman’s work.

Sadly I can’t pull off the hair-do.

Few of us could, Vin, few of us could.

It’s easy: shampoo, condition, add hair gel, set phaser to stun, aim at hair, shoot.

This is vitally important, people. Always, I mean never, point a phaser set to kill at yourself.

Well that was kind of Rand…om

My problem isn’t with the shampoo, conditioner, OR the phaser. It is that my hair looks like Picard’s. Or Sisko’s. Which is to say, nonexistent.

Waaaah I forget Tor was on Eastern time so when I went to download just now it was already Dec 4 on their website. I downloaded the 5th novella but now I will have to buy the 4th one if I get addicted to the series.

Oh well.

Try emailing TOR and asking if you can get it. I was able to do that once for one of the Murderbot books and they gave it to me.

Book 5 is live:

Somewhat to my amazement I managed to get all 5. I’d been interested in this series for awhile but novella pricing is often abusive, so this is a nice way to offset that. I don’t mind paying more for the later entries in the series if I enjoy these, since it all averages out.

I’ve started reading the first and it has a bit of a Gaiman feel to it.

I have all five too. I didn’t realize they were novellas. I am fine with that. In fact, I’m more likely to read them now.

Thank you, Tor, for this very benign and friendly marketing plan.

I’m completely fine with novellas. I’m less fine with them costing $11. But, again, that’s obviously offset by a giveaway like this. I just don’t understand it as a pricing structure.

I feel the same. Any novella priced more than $4.99 is going to be a hard sell to me.

Somehow I missed the first book but grabbed all the others. Whoops. I emailed them in case they are feeling charitable, worth a shot.

Same happened to me.

William Gibson’s The Peripheral is $2 for a limited time.

Of course I already have it.

Thanks for posting this - it was on my wishlist and I had some credit for accepting slower shipping from Amazon so I just got it for ‘free’. Really been looking forward to reading this.
