Today’s the big day for the capitalism-online.com version of the game. Good time to get in on the ground floor for anyone looking to try the game out. Server opens in ~9 hours.
I fired up capitalism-online yesterday after a few month break. Unfortunately the game momentum really seems to have slowed/stalled.
Ratjoy/Scott seems doesn’t seem to very active any more at the new server population is quite small maybe a 100 or so players if that many.
They have implemented some good changes restricting a single store from selling no more than 8 items which seems like a good idea (although it tends to focus people into a vertical integration model). The also killed the stock market which obviously was huge source of exploits, and perhaps isn’t actually needed in this game.
Are any Qt3 people still playing?
Nah I bailed when he threw a little strop and decided do-overs for everyone, reneging on promises of account continuation. “NO CHAR WIPE!”, still on the main page.
I’m still going over at the old site, but eh.
Still playing but the game feels a bit directionless at this point. What’s the point of my dude having personal money if there’s no more stock market?

No I’m not, but if there has been any kind of new resource, I’d be interested in starting again.
It seems to me that business MMO should be able to attract a market given all the various copies of the Tycoon games have been sold.
I’ve actually taken the original code from github and re-wrote some scripts and repaired many of the scripts and am running it on my server. Your more than welcome to join if you’d like. I’m really looking for active players willing to report errors and help bring it up to date with new products and features.
Ok I created a new account at the intermediate level. $500K really isn’t enough money to get started, I am eventually aiming to get into the fast food . Initially, I wasn’t able to get a loan, but then I did an appraisal and I found I could borrow like $15 million,which is a crazy amount. I’d fix the loan situation.
As I am sure you know there are many dead products, that either can’t be R&D or can’t be sold in stores.
Still thanks for reviving this game, I’ll play it off and on.

Yes, I did let the R&Ds lag a little behind from the industrial and product making.
