So, the Haligtree Canopy. Thanks, whoever decided that fighting a bunch of ranged mobs with knockback and area hits on a series of tree branches would be fun. I just need to go super slow and it’s not that hard but I make one tiny misstep and the joy of fighting them all again commences. After 4 tries or so I need a break.
Switching to an alt early in the game for a bit until my annoyance fades; I just don’t see what enjoyment there is to be had here other than perhaps the joy of finally reaching the next grace point and not having to do it again until my next character.
Remember that you can simply run by almost all trash mobs.
Don’t know where I’m going yet, and it’s a series of narrow branches where missing a step is a good chance of falling to your death. It’s not that bad, as long as you can fight ranged, which I can. I wouldn’t enjoy it much pure melee.
I’m just annoyed at an unlucky sequence and my own impatience, plus I just don’t like level design where a single missed button press and you’ve rolled off to your death. I play very few platformers and haven’t finished once since Super Mario 3, which I just looked up and found out it’s 30 years ago. Bleh.
Fire giant can go straight to hell with whoever programmed this fight. The fight itself isn’t hard at all, it’s the freaking camera and not being able to see threats. Another fight where I just have to memorize the timing, sounds, and moves of a boss, which is my least favorite thing to do. I guess some people dig bullshit like this, I certainly don’t.
If I could just pan the camera way out, this fight would be an absolute cakewalk.
Do you have alexander helping you? His summon sign in by the southern entrance, and he really helped out distracting the giant, so i could run in from behind.
That makes me a bit sad, I didn’t see an Alexander sign. I probably just missed it, but I enjoy bringing in the NPCs whenever possible. I hope I remember to look for that next time around.
In Haligtree news, the first boss is down, and I’ve lost about 200k runes falling to my death and panicking when tree avatars are one hit from death. Funny how I got all worked up over 2 or 3k in the beginning and now I’m dropping 50k left and right and not bothering to try and go back for it.
Hah! Came to post about this guy as well. I even looked up a cheese- it’s actually pretty hard to pull off and you need to do the hard thing twice, so I can see myself fking it up halfway through. I also don’t see Alexander summon, might need to look that up.
Didn’t use alex, but beat him. Raptor of the mists, pretty broken/amazing weapon ash for a lot of situations. Giant was a breeze once I changed. Now…godskin twins…seriously ready to uninstall lol.
I’m still rocking a holy claymore with my Str/faith dude, I think I need to find a more op weapon with more damage/ bleed or something, that giant health pool is gigantic.
I can’t imagine trying to do that fight without bleed or frost.
I’ve never felt less guilty about farming levels in a game than this one and having the Giant Crow Rune Farm is a godsend. I am at a level now where fights are difficult but not ‘too difficult’ and I’m not banging my head for an hour. But more importantly, being able to easily farm runes means not worrying anymore about dropping runes and so I explore with a lot more ease and enjoyment. Get a new weapon and don’t yet meet the stats? Hello, Crow!
Unrelated but fighting the Starscourge was hella fun! I can’t believe I had not been spoiled about the unique mechanics where I can summon multiple NPCs. More like this please.

It’s not too bad.
Once you’re under him he has very few things he can actually do to you.
His roll away the most dangerous thing and you can usually avoid it.
Well that and the death orbs, but that’s not too hard to avoid either.
So, I got teleporter trapped to the capital…at level 36 the Guardian Golem is tough!
You can skip by it I think? But if you took it down that’s impressive at 36!

Verdict: Comet Azur is dumb.
Thats what the blood lord said after he took it in the face, boom!
As for the teleporter trap to capitol, I thought i was stuck there until i beat the guys, and did finaly beat him, but have seen other people say that after you rest at the grace point, you can warp out, without killing him.

Like I finally got it and the ability to use it and most mini-bosses basically don’t matter at all.
I might start my Arcane attempt sooner than planned, this is downright silly.
This is how the traps work. You’re trapped until you rest at a grace, then you can teleport again. Though if you end up in a dungeon you’re still restricted by the “can’t teleport out of a dungeon you haven’t beaten the boss of” rule so you have to run outside.
Do you mean it’s too powerful?

It’s silly powerful.
Depends on the fight, but a lot of fights you can use it easily, usually with a No FP flask buff and kill things before they even do anything.
Edit: I literally deleted 3 mini-bosses before they even attacked me. Twas silly.

Anytime you teleported, unless it is underground you can just turn around and teleport away if you want using fast travel. It is a great way just to see what is out there. The only one I have taken that you couldn’t fast travel out of was the early one to Sellia Crystal Cave. And that is actually a nice place to get some smithing stones.
