There is a topic on Steam regarding the connection error problem. Sounded pretty simple, if it works. You might take a look.

I am a melee character and I am running at 32 poise. Light armor with a heavy shield. Worked a lot better than the other way around while keeping a medium roll.

If it was the easy cheat admin thing I tried it and it didn’t work.

I use Radahn’s armor, pretty much the best in the game that I’ve found for weight vs resists. Before that I used Banished Night armor, which is really easy to farm at Dragon Communion or whatever that’s called.

I was rolling around in the Carian Knight mostly, sometimes swapping in a different helmet for fashion/buffs since the CK helm doesn’t do anything special.

Really anything works. Some people wear the full Rogier set for the bonuses, but it’s awfully low protection and goofy looking for my tastes.

Having finally ā€œfinishedā€ I am in the process of watching the Lets Play I’ve been following alongside my run. I forgot about the fact that I’d never finished the sewers so I got spoiled on the boss which is a bit unfortunate as that fight looks right up my alley; some flashy effects, just enough room to maneuver but not enough to feel super safe while flasking, and some nice rewards.

I had heard the name of that boss, but for some reason thought they were somewhere else and I’d just messed up getting to them somehow, maybe by killing an npc rather than following their quest. I was under the impression that the ā€˜boss’ in the sewers would be Dung Eater after speaking with them.

I’m guessing that’s the only major thing I missed based on achievements, though 6 of the achievements are hidden. One must be that boss, I’m guessing the rest are endings. If not, I might still have some surprises left, but all in all I’ll take that for a first relatively blind playthrough.

I didn’t like the fight against Ranella. It reminded me of some older Fromsoft designs like Fools Idol, or similar… could be that I was overlevelled (the best levelled).

I helped as coop, before I beat her on my own … so, anyone used respec?

Yeah, I used it a couple of times including for the final fight when I realized my build was perfectly horrible for the final boss. I ended up with just over a dozen of the respec items on a relatively thorough playthrough; I’m sure I must have missed a couple but that’s probably about how many times you can respec if you want to.

Ranalla is either easy if you play aggressively, or hard if you don’t push her.

If you push hard, she can’t cast her spells, and she dies fast… but if you try to hang back, she can wreck you.

Seemed too easy to be true.

I never did figure out the trick to phase 1, so I finally summoned another player and he knew the trick. We were in phase 2 before I knew it. The summon got killed almost instantly but I did what @Timex suggested and just attacked and rolled and she went down on my last flask.

They are somewhere else as well. The other one is significantly tougher.

Nice, a boss I managed to not find twice. And I was so sure I was doing well in terms of thoroughness.

Ah well, something to look forward to will help keep the second run feeling a bit less repetitive.

Ya the 100% trophy thing is impossible without a guide. For example, that big dragon that doesnt move? Killing him unlocks a spell at the temple that you have to buy for a trophy.

Ok, I give up. I just can’t get anybody through the fire giant. I’ve spent maybe two or two and a half hours trying, and every time we get close (5 times, I think) I’ve gotten a connection error (twice) or died myself (three times). His attacks are just too big and too punishing to do on half flasks. I thought I’d get some nice runes helping people with this one, but no, I’m done.

So apparently there are 3 different Godfrey fights. Folks helped make the last fight against moon woman super cake so I figured I’d ask for help on the first Godfrey, the ghost. There are zero summonable folks parked here, super weird. Trying to get help on discord the guys who love to help folks can’t get here cause something in the map cuts em off from returning here? Super frustrating.

I don’t think you can do it on a single playthrough unless you savescum.

Had a productive pre-work Elden Ring morning. Beat the fire giant. Almost lost the runes. Made the decision to not follow the path of the Three Fingers. Respec’d some wasteful stat points. I was unreasonably proud last night that I found the dungeon hinted at by Latenna’s quest (the Haligtree) without any wiki help. So I have that and Volcano Manor to explore before moving toward the endgame.

The knight in front of Ranella on the other hand was something else. That parry monster. I had no success with my blood fang, but he had no answer for my long reach halberd. Good that I am levelling both weapons.

So it finally sunk into my skull that the whip is intended for use against Leonine Misbegotten.

4 or 5 levels have passed since i had a crack at him/her/it.

Ive been using that time to oractice non mounted combat, and harvest a few runes.

Just had another go at Leonine, let myself get ovwr eager with dealing real damage with the Katana, and trapped against a wall, so I couldnt dodge.

Whip works very well.

I got him/her/it to about 15% health.

Then went off to have lunch.

Back from lunch and staring at my screen, wondering if i should have another go…

I panic rolled into the small room behind him with the lift. Accidentally started the lift - he joined me - I panic rolled off the lift and struggled with the camera only to watch him fall off the lift and into the hole. Invader vanquished. Only moment I’ve actually clipped in my whole PS5 experience so far. I don’t desire/want to win my cheesing, but it was too funny.
