What does this look like in practice? Dex weapons and incantations? Or are there weapons that scale off Dex and Fth? (I know there are plenty that scale off Str and Fth)
Yeah, I wish I’d known earlier, which is why I mentioned it in this thread, instead of the spoiler thread. It’s not a spoiler, it’s helpful advice!
But just to contradict you a little, they’re 200 runes each, not 100. At least, the ones I’m finding now. I assume all the ones in the early game that I missed were the same.
I’m kind of blown away by Stormveil Castle’s size and labyrinthine nature right now. This place is amazing.
You’re right, they are 200 even a pop so even more valuable to a starting player!
In other news, I lost 25000 runes when I got fixated on trying to take down a boss and just clean forgot to pick up my runes first. Lesson learnt, milk all over the floor and all that.
Pretty sure there are different denominations, like 100, 200, 400, 1000, 2000, etc.
I’m at the point where, due to boulder exploit, I don’t mind losing anything less than 10k as that’s just a coupla minutes of work to make back.
We’re just talking about the free ones in the golden skulls you can run over with Torrent as you explore. Free is the best kind of runes!

Two questions. There’s a ghost sitting on a chair in the beginning. Am I supposed to jump down from where he is and ex0ore down there? Or go behind me through the doors beyond that glowing tree?
Also, on the PS5 it shows motion controls on the PS5 controller can do emotes. How do you do that?
Yes, jumping down leads you to the combat tutorial.

Spoilering but the ones I see mentioned a lot:
Early game:
Wolves. There are a bunch of em and they can stagger lock things sometimes while usually staying alive.
Skeleton pair is another solid pick since they rarely ever die and they keep doing their job of taking hits and distracting things.
Later:
Oleg is a monster. You can get him pretty early with a Stonesword and dealing with a shit dungeon, but he tanks like a fiend and does passable damage with lots of attacks.
Mimic is… you. So usually that’s really strong. Another you with your skills and weapons. Does less damage generally, but has way more health with upgrades. Basically the de facto choice in most situations for most characters since you summon it with health, which means everyone can get it and abuse it.
Tiche apparently just murders everything with bleeds.
Some other ones I’ve seen people mention are the Greatshield Soldiers, Mad Pumpkin and Warhawk, but they seem more situational/fall off later on. Some people swear by the Jellyfish. It poisons and is a pretty good tank apparently.

Is this a thing where I can only wear half my armor to effectively roll at full speed?
also, I’m destroying all these carts, barrels, fire pits, crates. Is this pointless? Is there every anything hiding in them?
Yes to the first question - keep an eye on your load and keep it at medium.
You can usually see if a glowing item is under debris but sometimes you can find a hidden passage. Mostly destroying that stuff is a waste of time imo.

m I supposed to be able to kill any of those big monsters in the first open area? Like the troll thing or the blobs on the beach? Lol
One thing I’ve always had difficulty in these games is knowing what I can and cannot take.

Try to fight them. If they one-shot you and you’re only taking off miniscule amounts of their health, they’re too much for you.

No Moonveil or other specific dex/int weapon?

Wait… but then I’d be dead! lol. What’s the penalty for dying in this game?
You lose your unspent runes, but they are an endless resource so really almost no penalty. And you can retrieve you lost runes most of the time.

Here’s my dude. Went with a Vagabond. Not sure I can tolerate this frame rate. If grass is the only difference, and there’s no texture detail difference, I might go PS4 version. You can’t have both versions installed at once can you?
