Yep if you return to Roundtable Hold and exhaust the dialogue there after downing Godrick you will be instructed how to use the Great Runes.

Who instructs you? Normally I speak with everybody, a few times, because From, but I can’t remember anyone telling me to go do the Divine Tower of Limgrave to activate the rune.

And I have no doubt it’s true, is more curiosity right now.

I think it was actually either a tutorial message that told me to do that (the part in the spoiler) or maybe the description on the rune when I pressed X to get a more detailed description. I can’t remember which.

Thinking back I actually might have looked it up. Everything from that far back is rather dim now.

Yes, you are right. There’s a tutorial message and then if you press X they detail more about how to do it.

There are a lot of concepts in this game and it looks my brain simply discards some of them.

Caelid feels that way to me so far. As an Int user, I’m finding a lot of things I don’t care about.

I think it is in the item descriptions.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone here for all the help. I feel like I don’t truly have the dexterity and timing needed for this kind of game, so it’s helped me keep going. Sometimes I feel like I did when I played baseball in middle school where it became apparent how awful my timing was, as I struck out all the time and it’s only gotten worse with age lol.

You might try a spear and greatshield build. You can facetank a lot with a good greatshield and you don’t even need to drop guard to poke from behind it with a lot of spears. I found one spear that has great strength scaling and actually no stat requirements at all. Awesome weapon but I’m kind of missing my Wing.

This list also likes Godfrey and Maliketh. By then I felt like I was at the point of the endgame where I’m hurtling toward the conclusion and not really paying attention to much unless I get stuck on it. I’d love another crack at them.

That’s kind of the main issue with the game: there’s so much reuse, but they’re not reusing any fun stuff. I don’t mind reuse in a vacuum because it lets me enjoy fun content again (e.g. Team Ninja, Devil May Cry, Dark Souls 2, etc.). So you can do either reuse or some occasional boring stuff but not both.

OMG…I’m level 32 and have not fought any bosses yet…just exploring. I am all magic but feel to get the real Souls gameplay feeling, I need to do melee and try and see if I can actually beat these bosses that way. I never played other souls games for long because of difficulty and I hate melee but now I think I need to do that to get the real full experience of these games. Maybe I can figure it out and then play all those other ones! But, not until I’m done with my sorcerer.

Every single one of these games I tell myself, “next time I’ll try magic,” and every single one I’m grinding my shield into their noses.

I honestly think in this game, all magic/faith or 50% magic/faith 50% melee is the way to go.

Anyone have a good spot for getting feathers? Eagles falling off cliffs with my feather prize grrrrr. Lol

I haven’t found one; I just make it a point to whack one every time I’m within a few seconds of them. There’s generally a pair and I can hit one while the other flies off.

The expense or farming time of buying/crafting arrows is one of the things I most dislike in this game, but then I’ve also cheesed a few fights with arrows so the bow feels like cheating as well.

edit: you can get them all if you use arrows to take them down; one dying from arrows doesn’t make the other fly off like melee does. The cheap store bought arrows are only 20 runes each. I should probably just buy the max of those and store them in my chest.

Somebody managed to perfectly place their message in a way that I can’t activate a site of grace goddamnit. I don’t even get the prompt to select action with the arrow keys.

I completed DS’s 1 and 2 with magic builds but when they went to the split flask system I gave up on magic.

It is a good way to use all those bolts the early guys drop.

I have run across that several times. Really annoying. If you run around a bit, being careful of course, you can go back and usually get the Grace prompt. You might have to quit out and comeback. Remember to downgrade the message.

Yeah I quit and reloaded- message still there but now I could activate the grace. Easiest “disparage” this far.
