I think Caelid is a great area. A totally new atmospheric tone for FROM. I like it that you can pull the monstrous dogs and birds and let them fight with the soldiers … and then you can clean up the survivors.

I was above the difficulty curve for a long time, but now I am below. The new area in Liurnia after I unlocked the gate is hard, the zombies suck out all my mana.

I think I want to try the Fort in Caelid next. Also, I need to put levels into INT because there are spirits I can’t summon because I don’t have enough mana. And I need 4 levels for FAI to use the tree sentinel halberd without rune arcs. I am at 20,000 runes per level.

And farming rats for rune arcs is not working at all anymore, they nerfed it for real. I should have never updated to the latest patch.

I played online for the first time and after a couple of hours, I got disconnected during an intense fight against a wizard in a cave.

Staffs compared

meteorite staff is best until you get higher than about +13 on an improvable weapon, at that point the scaling doesn’t keep up with the weapon level bonus, which is actually a big thing on a lot of weapons in general. So the “S” of the meteor, isn’t as good as the “B” on a glintstone staff once it gets enough levels. You can easily use meteor staff up through capital, but it is worth leveling another staff.

If you have a Cerulean Hidden Tear you can use that in your physick and use any summon for free, even if you don’t meet the FP requirements.

You need Mind not Intelligence to increase your FP.

Don’t you need to raise Mind for that? I have a melee build so my INT is low but I went to 23 mind to get 112 mana for spirit summoning.

I need to remember to use that more.

yes, I mis-remembered. Level 23 for 112, ugh that’s a lot. I think that means I will not be able to get the heavy spirits out. Proably they are intended to work as a buffer for spell casters.

It is interesting how they work. I have a couple to lvl 6 now and at times they work amazingly well. At other times they are useless.

I would agree with this general statement, but for the most part, the jellyfish is almost always useful, even when others are useless. I swear to god, that Jellyfish is a rockstar in this game. I honestly used to hate Jellyfish until I played Elden Ring.

jes, jelly is my friend, too.

I call mine “Mr. Jelly”. He’s my best friend.

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for.

Keep in mind that the Meteorite Staff boosts gravity spells. If your go-to spell is Rock Sling the Meteorite Staff remains effective well into the late game.

they fixed the button for skipping dialog. When I pressed it so slightly, it skipped 2-3 lines instead of only one. I annoyed me a lot, but with the last patch, it is gone.

I wish if people summon other people, they would skip the boss cutscene…

So I beat General Radhon in my first try today. Shocked the crap out of me. I knew very little about the fight, other than the phase 2 entrance. I noticed the summon signs and those guys were great.

I am Str melee at lvl 101.

I did it at level 58 (burned into my brain). The first many tries was at vigor 20 or 25. After I redid my build and hit him with vigor 40 and a cold infused nightrider flail it only took two more tries.

I have about 130 hours in and was kind of avoiding Caelid because of how tough it was, and how tough it looked, when I first warped there. The regular soldiers were pretty easy and the cave bosses weren’t bad at all. Maybe I was over leveled?

I don’t care. :)

Are all those NPC summons usually there?
