I think you are justified in your threadcopping. I’ve seen a lot of posts lately that are definitely in spoiler territory IMO. People are still playing and coming here to talk about the game without having finished it. If you want to get detailed about bosses and fights, that should be in the spoiler thread IMO or at the very least blurred.

Last night I found both a golden seed and a Sacred Tear. So I got another flask, and flasks became more potent too. The farther I go into the game, the more I find myself tipping the balance towards FP flasks. Now that I have 10 flasks, I am actually 5 and 5. Being able to use more FP via flasks actually has me switching towards more expensive spells and to use them more often.
It’s strange that in other games, I’d be critical of level changes being too gradual. I like having big changes when a character levels up in other games. But in this one, since combat is so player-skill focused, it’s okay that character skill changes through equipment and flasks and leveling up are gradual and slow. I’m astonished at myself that I’m so okay with it. And that I actually like it.

I want to start my copy of Grand Turismo 7, but I just can’t switch, knowing that I am still “early” in Elden Ring and so much stuff to do. I am in act 2, so to speak. Elden Ring until killing Godrick feels like act 1.
I just can’s share gaming time with any other video game until the job is done.
I feel the same way. Or at least until I hit some kind of brick wall. Other games are on hold. Reading is on hold. TV is on hold. Movies are on hold. There is only Elden Ring and Mario.

hey, hey, don’t overreact. Need some time to relax. That’s how any job gets done.
I play almost all games exclusively if I plan to
actually finish them. One I stop playing and start something else I will never return. My only exception is palate cleansers that you pick up for 15 minutes occasionally when you don’t have time to settle in for a more complex game.

I play GT7 (or sometimes Nioh 2) on the couch when my girlfriend is on the couch and Elden Ring when she is in bed or otherwise occupied.

Me too. One game at a time.
I label games on steam as “done” when they hit one of two end points:
- Great game, I got to the end and I loved it.
- Fuck you I’m so done with you, never again!

I’ve actually started doing that myself and am finishing more games now (playing one at at time… not swearing at them on Steam).
I only do it when I know I’m in for a HUGE time commitment. Otherwise I’d never get through them. So the Souls games, for sure, and Witcher 3, Skyrim, Mass Effect, and other massive games.
I try not to play massive games though. I generally try to play shorter games and rotate between them. If a game is 12-15, and I play it in about 10-20 minute sessions, then it only takes about 6 months to finish. But if I did that for one of these massive games? It would take years!
Picked up Elden Ring again last night after spending a week in Budapest! First thing I find is another tomb. I get to the boss door, walk in, and it’s 2 Crucible Knights. Mfw
I officially uninstalled, 150.1 hours in Steam. I wasn’t feeling any compulsion toward finishing the last challenge I had set for myself because it’s not really that interesting. I can always do it later after I play whatever DLC they come up with.
I’m looking forward to returning to Sifu, Monster Hunter Rise, and maybe Stranger of Paradise. But first I need to say hello to my family and do some projects around the house.
I’m not into that whole completion thing, man.

I don’t mind the work, my issues is just getting summoned period.

It takes longer for Godrick to be summoned. Radagon the dog is more frequent … I like helping with Godrick, such a sucker. Also nice to see some sorcerers fighting along.

Dear God I love Lhutan the Headless. If you all want a laugh watch this short vid I made. It’s like he’s a psycho human who’s brutally efficient, but a great team player. Haha

I’m probably at a crux where i need to make a decision. I’m a level 65 astrologer, but have mostly been a hybrid build. I’ve got like 40 int, 25 mind/vigor and about 15 in everything else, except faith and arcane which i havent touched. My problem is that I think i’m liking the swordplay more as the game progresses. Seeing decent weapons just out of my reach, i invested in dex - which opened up the uchigatana (as well as other things, but i eventually stuck with that), and the horn bow. Then i got the hoar-frost stomp, and now I’m a pretty happy camper - using spells when i need to keep a distance, and the uchi when i don’t. But it seems like i probably want to specialize at this point to maximize damage - and so investing in a bunch of dex for the uchi (or i assume other katanas) probably isn’t as valuable as just putting the points in int and going full sorceror. I guess, my question is, from a damage perspective is a 40/40 split viable or is it better to be like 65/15? Any advice?

I must have her impulsive sister Lhutel then - I’m pretty sure mine would teleport on top of that hill, agroing everything, then teleporting back to my side to give me a shrug as if to say “What, isn’t this what you wanted?” as everything turns towards me in a murderous fenzy…
