One disappointment for me is not having a “don’t show helmet” option in settings. I believe Demon’s Souls PS5 had this and since I like my characters face and eyes I wanted to see it all the instead of the hideous foot soldiers hat I’m wearing.

This has been my position from day one. A lot of people agree.
It’s one of my major complaints with the game’s balance at the end of the day.

There is a way to do it on one of the screens.

But it doesn’t actually carry over to the game, so it’s completely pointless.

I reached a point where I just wore an altered headband most of the game and better armor/heavier weapons.

Don’t wear a helmet. Put that weight into a heavier chest piece or leg piece so your armor stats stay about the same. There are also head items that show the face and add INT or Fth.

Wait… so all along I thought the game registered specific hit locations on arms/legs/head/chest. Is that not the case? It’s just looking at the accumulated defensive stats you have?

I could have sworn I’ve seen some items in Elden Ring that mention taking less damage from headshots.

Like this thing, for example:

This video seems to possible suggest otherwise?

While each piece shows its own stats I don’t think I have ever seen any info on whether wearing a helmet or bracers in order to make weight makes a difference. The most important thing being you don’t fat roll probably.

Yea, I remember seeing that as well. I do know a shot to the face does more damage that one to the leg. But how much I don’t know. When I shoot my bow I get more damage when I can get a head shot.

I guess my point is nothing counts more than Fashion Souls. If you look good, you will play good.

And then Hideo Kojima jumps in and makes Margit Stranding

But have you tried for the knee?

When it’s swinging a weapon 3x bigger than the size of your body, i’m not sure hitting a particular hitbox matters - it hits all of them. :) unless you’re rolling or jumping

lol…which kind of reminds me of

What do you get for killing a human invader? And what do they get as an invader for killing the human host?

Having a great time helping people kill the the gnarled eldtree things, and invaders keep coming in the sessions, but it’s been fine cause I’ve killed like 4 interlopers so far 😛

Whatever ruins the invader has are somehow shared. I don’t know how they do that. Usually that doesn’t amount to much. It’s just fun to do. It also teaches you not to be afraid of invaders, although nobody is as good as a good invader.

What’s exactly is an Albinauric? Obviously they look albino, it don’t know anything else about them. Latenna is one.

On the plus side, i got the moon katana!

On the negative side, it doesn’t take hoarfrost. WTF?!

You can’t infuse most unique weapons.

Invaders get rune arcs if they kill the host, and cooperators the same for beating a boss. A tasty treat, to be sure, but most invaders probably invade more for the sadomasochistic pleasure of it all.

Albinaurics are artificially created beings. Seems they were mostly created by sorcerers. They play a pretty big role, but their plight doesn’t feel entirely resolved. Add it to the list of things to maybe-sorta get expounded upon by dlc.

To complete white mask Varre’s demand to invade 3 worlds I simply ran up, waved, then groveled as they beat me down. Fight the power.

Not sure why you’d get the moon katana to put frost on it. The whole point of that katana is its Ash? There are other katanas you can use for your HFS.

They are kinds of hormunculi? Sorcerers created them. The first generation were human looking. The later ones are those weird frog looking guys.

OK, my brother and started a new character and we’re trying to make the same build. We’ll be at around level 37 when we’re done.

Neither of us are Souls players so a lot is still confusing to us. So the question is: we want to do is some exploring together in Co-op. Questions:

How do we specifically join each other’s game?
How do we best avoid invaders?
