LOL I don’t know how I did that. This has been one of those days where I need to just go back to bed and try again tomorrow. ;)

The flails look badass!

Oh yes, I have been there. I didn’t get a great look at that guy, either.

Lots of good advice on ways to upgrade my Astrologer and get a better weapon. They look complicated, LOL. For now this first start I’m just going to wander around in pure ignorance.

At this point I’ve decided this run is just a figure out what the heck is going on run. I will then start again with a much better plan.

Gah! I remember that building! I was so close, but there was so much poison and stuff around, I didn’t want to linger too long to explore. It didn’t occur to me to ride the horse there.

Oh well, I’ll be back one day to that area.

OK, stuck. Missing something that must be obvious. Finished the tutorial area and it put me back where I started, in the area where the guy says to jump down. I see a glowing something up high but no way to get there. Or anywhere. The only place I see to jump up, with some guys leg’s hanging over the edge, I can’t jump up that high. So I have no idea where to go from here. Help!

When you go jump down and go through that entire tutorial area it ends at the ledge at the top. At least it did for me. Maybe there’s more than one path out?

The glowy thing is accessed from somewhere else that leads back to here. You gotta jump down the hole, I believe. Or just warp outta there back to the overworld.

OK something odd happened. I was standing in the area where I beat that first mini boss at the end of the tutorial and had to quit, Put the PS5 in rest mode. When I came back it said it had lost contact with the servers. I had to restart the game. I hit continue and it put me there but when I went through the doors I ended up back with the guy who said jump down. Jumped down again and it looks like it reset the tutorial area so I’ll replay and make sure I get out the doors before I pause the game again. (And I have to break some finger memory from other games, keep accidentally hitting square and drinking potions!)

That is indeed how the summoning pool system works, and it’s a good system except for one thing: the caves and catacombs are kind of short and boring.

I’d love to be able to filter to just the cool stuff while I’m exploring. The radius is probably because you drop your runes in the summoned dungeon (at least for invasions, this might be wrong for co-op).

Got to the end of the tutorial again, went out the opening past the mini-boss I killed, and I’m standing up on a ledge looking over where the guy is who told me to jump down. But when I was down there before I didn’t see anywhere to go. What am I missing here at the beginning of this game??? (wish there was a save game option)

If you move forward into the next room, there’s an elevator.

I’m pretty happy with the summoning system (at least the parts I’ve seen so far.) Though I do wish that the summoning pools would let me auto-summon the next two available people instead of having to pounce on gold signs every thirty seconds and hope I’m the first to do so.

There must be so many people playing the game that I’m surprised how few summon signs are provided each refresh and how frequently they’re already taken.

You can quit the game at any time, and it saves. Next time you continue with that character, you should start on that very spot. Not nearby, but bang on that spot where you left.

This is something From should very clearly explain in their games. It’s way less overwhelming to know that you can save anywhere with like four button presses (or, maybe implement pausing)

Jump down from the ledge (to the level the guy is sitting), up the stairs, open the door and you’ll be good.

Anyone also missing the string chord sound effect, when entering a new region? It was so perfect in all of soulsborne games. They changed it after so many years! It is a little bit too subtle now…

On the other hand, the sound and music when you are exploring a cave are really adding to the atmossphere…

I’m an idiot. I thought that’s where I’d come out of to reach the guy telling you to jump down.

Yup, I rerolled away from my mage today to try out bleed - started with a flail, loving this weapon. Very under represented in RPGs. I also followed a short tutorial that got me up to speed (+2 flasks, 6 flasks total, +4 weapon) in about 30 mins, which is great and I’m just mowing through content that I’ve already seen before. That said, this game seems super stingy with souls, leveling feels very slow.
