That was known to be an Ice Troll for some time, yeah.

You could even beat the game in that time if you wanted to.

Fortunately that’s the last goddamned thing in the world I want to do. I prefer to squeeze and suck every last drop of tasty, tasty gameplay juice out of Bethesda’s games. Hell, just the latest Skyrim wallpaper is making me itch with explorational lusts.

This thread is no longer safe for work.

Sounds like Steam owners may be able to download and play as early as Thursday 11/10 evening/night.

Don’t fall off your chair looking for half a week, or even a fully day, but if you live in any of the three time zones not Eastern, you could see the game from an hour to three earlier than you might’ve otherwise, meaning—yep, a late November 10th release date.

“Steam is going to unlock every hour on the hour for all the various time zones? Every steam game I’ve gotten is usually 12am PST,” wrote Twitter user ScottLufkin to Bethesda vice president of public relations and marketing Pete Hines.

“[One] for oz, one for UK/Europe, one for US (EST is planned), etc,” wrote back Hines.

“Holy [censored] did you just announce 9pm PST on 11/10?” asked another user.

“[That’s] what we are working on,” replied Hines.

Skyrim awesomeness confirmed! So awesome that even before release, Skyrim is nominated as one of the greats of the year. All you nay-sayers can suck it. Whooo!

Also I’m sure that this was mentioned before but even though UPS and Fedex deliver on Veteran’s day, I hope that the holiday doesn’t somehow mess up my release day delivery. *crosses fingers.

Media has been playing Skyrim for some time now, I imagine.

Facebook seems to be downsizing them.

I am oh so close to changing my pre-order to Steam.

Need it to be 11/11/11 now. I want to play this game.

Skyrim is the

So, what, you slide the orange into the robot’s stomach and he barfs up pulp?

I never played any of the previous games, and only touched Oblivion briefly. Am I going to be completely clueless/confused regarding the story? If so, any wikis to read up on before Skyrim hits?

If past games are any indication, the game will not be adversely effected if this is your first foray in the Elder Scrolls universe. Also, there will be a ton of lore in the game to help provide some back story.

Knowing everything about the history of the world may be a boon for the die hard fans, but you won’t feel like you’re missing anything if you don’t.

Again, this is based on past ES games. For all I know about Skyrim, there could be a 50 question test about Daggerfall before it allows you to get past the main menu.

Pre-order!.. the soundtrack?

They did the same thing for Rage, so its not unprecedented. The only thing I’m surprised by is that they can get away with it given it kind of screws over the retailers who might be promoting midnight launches, like GameStop (not that anyone likes them, but still).

Is playing the other games in the series a prerequisite for wanting Skyrim? I haven’t played any of the previous games but I’ve been watching a few videos on the internet showing the first hour or two and it doesn’t turn me on at all. It brings back Fallout3 memories and makes me want to try New Vegas, which I missed. The distant future of the post apocalypse is so compelling to me. Is it the medieval setting that’s so enticing in Skyrim or the Elder Scrolls universe in particular?

Not quite.

FTFY.

Done.

Too bad they didn’t package this and the CE guide as the Collector’s Edition as opposed to the bookshelf spacewaster. That I would have forked out for. This way, though, I can still get what I want; its a build-your-own CE experience.

As a note, all Soundtrack’s ordered before 12/23 will be autographed by Jeremy Soule and that these will be physical disks, not digital downloads.
