Wow, that video was pretty incredible. The loping run, the length of the arms, the means of regenerating health, the howls, etc. Worth watching if this thread has already dropped a gibbous spoiler on you.

I like it.

  1. Wait - the game only just went gold today, and it’s supposed to be in stores in one week?

  2. Vampires and Lyncanthropes have been a big part of the game lore from the very beginning. In Daggerfall, it was possible to be both a werewolf and a wereboar (well, not at the same time…). Supposedly wereboars are the most common in the province of Skyrim (no idea about the game.) Here’s a lore book (On Lycanthropy) which claims that one can meet werelions in Elsweyr, werecrocodiles in Morrowind, werevultures in Valenwood, and - the author claims - weresharks in oceans around Tamriel. But I suspect he was embellishing his tale a bit there.

I am now never going to shut up in Bethesda threads until I get to play a wereshark.

Anyway, Oblivion was clearly the odd game out in terms of its lack of werewolf content. I’m not surprised to see it making a return in Skyrim.

  1. I have the second TES book sitting on my Kindle but I can’t bring myself to read it. The first one was so aggressively bad.

Without going into detail, this is the first thing I’ve seen about Skyrim I didn’t care for.

Going “gold” doesn’t mean what it used to. It no longer means the game is finished and will be sent for production, as should be clear since there are legitimat copies of the game out in the wild already. It just means that the devs basically consider the game done, pending whatever new bugs show up after release. What it really means is that the day one patch is probably done and ready to go.

The whole idea of Day 1 patches makes my eyes twitch. Just another sign of my descent into geezerhood, I guess.

I was able to delete my own posts just fine, thanks.

Yeah, I just didn’t read the rest of the thread and homed in on the good stuff. So…

All the good “min-maxing” stuff is actually covered by other spoilers. You need to know the perks in the game to know which things are uber. :)

You know Kunikos, we do have multi-quoting now . . . ;-)

Odd. Almost the opposite for me; it felt like the first thing that felt genuinely new - other than the dragons of course.

Kerzain needs to turn in his/her geek card. :P

How else can he climb to 13k posts?

Legend also tells of the fabled weregerbil, but such tales are now mostly lost to the ravages of time.

So do you. Obviously not a spoiler, FACT.

Why the mead hate though? It’s better than wine or beer.

The soundtrack to this game is fucking fantastic. I’ve been listening to various tracks that have been posted on YouTube.

You might be stretching it a bit when you say Mead is better than any wine, or any beer.

WURWILF

Eh, opinions; can’t obviously say it’s better than any, but certainly, in my opinion, better than most.
