I can’t wait! I had a bizarre string of thoughts this morning revolving around how I would manage to get a copy of Skyrim if I woke up and all the other people in the world had somehow disappeared. I decided that I’d try Target first and then move on to the local UPS hub.

So what sort of character is everyone thinking of rolling? I was thinking of maybe going for an archery-and-stealth sort of character, though being set in Skyrim, it’s tempting to do a Nord and focus on two-handed weapons. I’ve never spent much time using bows in any of the Elder Scrolls games, though. I’ve never played a straight-up magic character, either, so there’s that.

Shim and I took a list of class bonuses with us to pore over while waited for our restaurant lunch. Things are looking good for my altmer spellcaster and his nord bard. :D

I’d love to play a sword&board Nord (or maybe axe@board?) but melee combat in these games is decidedly unfun. I suppose I’ll go with a bit of magic and a bit of head bashing.

However, I’ll end up fiddling with dozens of characters. The main consideration for me will be whether to bother with the main quest line. I kinda’ wish I hadn’t wasted the time on it in Oblivion.

I’m going to attempt to hold out for two weeks until the black friday sales and hope for a price discount. It is going to be tough.
