I’d add to that:
-Anything you can discover while creating your character or opening your character page in the first 10 second of gameplay.

I didn’t post the achievements link or mention them, that was Timsfker. I thought one of things mentioned was worthy of further discussion in general and that is what my post is about. I put it in spoiler tags since it involved one of the things that might be considered a spoiler, though I’ve seen it mentioned in several other places and no one has gotten upset about it. Its hardly new ground for an RPG, though it is a new thing for a Bethesda RPG.
Like I said above, at a certain point the only way to avoid all spoilers about a game is to stop reading about it at all. As ShivaX notes.

Repo, what kind of stuff do you actually WANT to see in these kinds of threads?
Genuine question here. It just seems like it’d be hard to talk about anything beyond the super trivial without getting into spoiler territory.

Mmmmh, typically in the non-spoiler gameplay threads one reads things like “Swords suck” or “How do you use skill X?” or that kind of thing – issues with the moment-to-moment gameplay mechanics, rather than with specific game situations. That stuff can be inordinately useful.
And now that we have spoiler tags, if we do location-based spoiler-tagged posts, one can start dipping into those selectively as one proceeds through those areas of the game. After experiencing 40+ hours or so, your spoiler tolerance changes, and looking at stuff about places you’ve exhaustively groveled through already is a win, because at that point you want to hear about stuff you missed so you don’t have to cover every square inch of the goddamned town again :-)

I don’t think gameplay features count as a spoiler. Spoilers typically deal with plot, not basic themes or gameplay. I think if you are going to have a very strict approach to spoilers the onus is on you to avoid them, not on the rest of the forum to bend over backwards on your behalf. Just my opinion and if others prefer your approach I will follow the consensus.
Or perhaps (absurd for an unreleased game) it’s time to create a spoilers thread and move the discussion there.

That’s ridonkulous. We’ll create 7 or 8 separate threads for Skyrim thursday night instead.

Seven or eight isn’t nearly enough. We need to create a thread for each class/gender/race option. I don’t want you Argonian wizard
OMG!

There’s females in this game? Spoiler that shit man!
No, you just need to stop reading anything about Skyrim here. What you’re asking people to do is to discuss the game…without discussing the game. If they can’t mention pretty basic info regarding the game, then there’s no use in having a thread at all.
In other words, you need to chill out or get out. If the mere mention of the name of a town or a generic achievement is enough to make you fly off the deep end, maybe you shouldn’t be in a thread about the game.
Yeah, what Blackadar said. I don’t know what other outcome the oversensitive-to-spoilers people expect from reading threads about the game on the internet.

Yeah, stop crying, you pussy. Wahh wahh. What a little pussy.
(It’s time for a good ol’ fashioned Qt3 pile-on!)
[Cruelly and unreasonably lists names of towns in the game without any warning whatsoever, like a goddamned monster]

Does anyone know whether there is any sort of difference in how the game is expected to perform on the 360 vs. the PS3? And here I mean “Someone has actually seen it” not “my console’s dick is theoretically bigger than yours’.”
Don’t let RepoMan give spoilerphobes a bad name. (We’re way too late on that one, I know.) It was perfectly reasonable to be upset at the screenshot earlier in this thread that was taken from a leaked copy. That’s been hashed out already but we shouldn’t forget about it.
Repo, I have my own personal annoyances – uselessly name-dropping parts of a linear game that everyone will encounter eventually as if it adds to the discussion – but I try to be a little more subtle about it. You have to save bold italics for the obvious cases.

Because the tags have titles. You can include enough info there to warn people off.

OK fair enough. I will shut it. Still planning to start the more specific threads on Wednesday though.
That was a good idea to make a thread entitled “spoiler tags required.” People are still functionally unable to squint in the spoiler thread to ask questions there, so reminding about tags helps herd the cats a bit. That’s all you can really do on the internet.
Apparently, there is an issue on the 360 not loading textures correctly if the user installed the game to the hard drive.

It’s being corrected, but there you go.
