You know it to be true people! (found on reddit)

So I guess the entire game is encrypted, even the INI files. Either that or they’re using non-human-readable INI files, which I hear is all the rage these days.

To help pass the time. From a random site.

Ew! I feel like making a ludicrously hyperbolic statement here, so: it won’t be PC gaming without being able to tweak ini files! That’s right games industry, you heard me.

Actually a bit smaller than Oblivion, then.

Oblivion.esm 271Mb

No, I wish I could. I don’t know if it’s compressed in some file and needs to install after download, or if it and other critical files will be patched in at release.

Gahh Urge to spend money… rising… must stop reading threads…

This is killing me. For many reasons I just can’t get this right now. I’m probably going to have to wait until the new year to purchase a new system and get this. Damn, I’m freaking green right now. Arghhhhhhh! You bunch of lucky bastards.

From those filenames, I think we can assume mods will be done exactly the same as Oblivion.

They’ll be normal INI files. Steam games are always fully encrypted on preload (even the text files).

@DennyA: I agree. A guide ruins the entire POINT of this game. Live and learn, explore, and love the game (mistakes in build and all).

Will a female have a nice ass to watch?

Interestingly, Black Sabbath has announced, eh…that they have an announcement to make on 11-11-11 as well! I wonder if they are making a new soundtrack to the game?

I hope they’re retiring.

Man, you are all like little kids on christmas.

Behave yourselves!

I found this funny :)

… Been unable to find a CE of the PC version, so I’m tempted to buy the PS3 CE and just… obtain the PC version.

Suppose I could finish Oblivion in 2 nights before Skyrim hits.

Probably due to better compression. I’m more skeptical with regards to the compression of audio and textures. I doubt they’re getting as major a benefit from that as Pete Hines has stated via Twitter.

Hardcover strat guides are available for pre-order again at Amazon.com, currently priced at $23.52

Not long now!

(I made this content free post to fix the thread)…

I would happily pay more for higher res textures if you’re reading this Mr Hines.

Woohoo! Game unlocked!
