No, no, that would be silly. That’s Sept 2012.

The good news is they actually pay you if you go with UPS Next Year Air.

Is this just a critical or kill hit special animation? IE: You would have killed them with your 15x back-stab damage so it just plays some kind of stealth-kill animation?
Opposed to: Hitpoints and whatnot are not checked, but anytime you sneak up on a humanoid from behind you get a free insta-kill on them.
That could definitely make the stealth approach a lot more interesting.

Based on some other forums I’m on, the VPN industry has gotten a bit of a boost today. A lot of people are using them to use the Australian decryption servers and have been playing all day.
I’m running on mostly high settings (shadows low, tree and landscape shadows turned on too, 2x AA) and easily getting 40-60 fps outdoors and above 60 indoors. I’m running on a 2 year old computer:
Core 2 Duo 8400 @ 4GHZ
ATI Radeon 4870 1GB
8GB RAM
EDIT: Running at 1920x1200
I have to say, the game looks absolutely spectacular too. I’m very impressed.
I’m kind of getting how a thief works now too. It’s pretty sweet sneaking up on enemies and nearly one-shotting them in the head with an arrow. :D
you should give the screen resolution if you’re going to talk frame rates/system.

OH MY GOD IT’S JUST SITTING THERE PRELOADED WHY WHY WHYYYYYYY
I’m glad I have a firelands raid tonight to get me through till the midnight release at Gamestop. I’m ready to play this one.
The recommended VPN services have also been getting hammered like crazy and have stopped taking new users. Good thing I had everything set up last night.
I am running on an older system, GTX 280, Q9450 Core2Quad at 2.66GHz, and 4 GB of RAM. The launcher autodetected settings at high, and performance has been rock solid. Playing at 1680x1050.
So what is the quality of writing/quest design so far?
I noticed wildly different opinions amongst the reviewers on the main quest line, so I’m curious about this too.

Can I be skeptical?
Not even Oblivion runs like that on that machine and on similar settings.
GameStop shipped mine today, so fingers crossed…
Anyone have a link to a free european VPN?

Hee hee! Everyone’s “older system” stats are pretty decent! I’ll be playing this on an AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core 5200+, a Geforce 9600GT, and 3.5 GBs of RAM. I’ll let everyone know what happens after I play tomorrow.
Nephrinn, was that 1680x1050, or 1920x1200? At any rate, that’s a substantive good news answer, thanks.
The “Wolfdale/8800” ballpark 2008 systems were a bargain in terms of how long they’ve held up, but it will be 2012 soon.

You’re not the only one. My copy just got dispatched and will be arriving either Monday or Tuesday. I should by going for a full media blackout as well by now, but here I am.
On the upside, by then a lot of people should be well into the game and we’ll be able to ask for help when we get stuck with quests and so on. I’m hoping for some advice on builds as well, there are always some perks that sound good but turn out to be duds, and some combinations that shine together.

My ATI 5670 gets between 40-60FPS at 1280x1024 with pretty much everything but AA cranked up to ‘high’ - and that’s a 2 year old budget card right there. Load times are very reasonable as well, even with just 4gigs and a regular HDD. Overall a pleasant surprise on the sysreq front.
