Heck, he’s Dragonborn. Probably doesn’t even feel it.

Yep you can delete the game file only and keep your saves. I did this all the time when I had a 20g HD. Go into System settings -> memory-> HD -> Games -> Skyrim. You’ll see a bunch of save files. Don’t delete those. Delete the Skyrim game file only. Should be around 3.8 gig.

Don’t worry about the cache that will clear up on it’s own. Just start up a different game (not Skyrim) or restart your xbox, then go back into Skyrim.

I don’t know for sure, but I beat the shit out of the first skeleton I saw using fire and a sword.

Have you checked google?
2 Ghz dual core, 2GB Ram, 6GB HDD, DX8 gfx card with 512 MB mem

Mine autodected my system and gave it high settings and its running fine (AA & AF on 8x):

Intel C2D e6750 (2.66 Ghz)
4 GB Ram
Radeon 4870 (1GB mem)
running at 1680x1050

I haven’t even bothered tweaking any of the settings, just dived straight in…

The whole of the internet is gushing, but the review of a single guy in the paper convinces you? Not bad!

I had the same thing happen. On one hand I was appalled at how quickly I went down. On the other hand, I was laughing my ass off.

Oh man, it pains me to realize I can be as asinine as I possibly can and it still just registers as “plausible.”

Tapatalk FTW!

It runs much better than I expected and looks great. Generally I’m 30-40+fps outside and much higher inside. My system is Q6600, 4gb, Win7 64bit, GF8800 GTS 320mb. Running a mix of high/medium but no AA/AF and only 1440*900. When casting flames they seem a bit hard to see, basically invisible, so maybe I’ll update my drivers.

The guy from deadend thrills is posting Skyrim shots

Tools and tricks: twofold increase in landscape cell loading distance, large address aware patch to TESV executable, free camera, no-HUD, 2160p rendering, timecycle adjustment, custom FOV.

This forum recently had someonelosing their shit over a few thousand hours of work being sold for $1.67 rather than $1.99.

Like I said, plausible.

Awake at 7 AM on a Sunday. I spent part of the night dreaming about accidentally deleting important items from my inventory in Skyrim. 2 days is the quickest that I believe any game has gotten to the “dream about” it stage.

I"m sure this has been talked about, but can anyone help me with the PC keybinding issue?

That is, I made the mistake of binding a key to “F”. I changed it back, but now anything that uses “F” for the interface (such as Favorite/Unfavorite or several crafting menu choices) doesn’t work.

Does anyone know the solution?

EDIT:

Nevermind, figured it out. In the install folder ([ProgramFiles]\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim) it leaves a file called ControlMap_Custom.txt that for some reason appears to be binary rather than plain text, so you can’t edit it directly with notepad. I just went ahead and deleted it and then next time Skyrim started it recreated the file and everything appears to be working again.

It looks nice, but apparently this stuff makes the game unstable, and the large address aware patch breaks saves.

I’ll say this, though: one of the simplest ways to make the game look a lot better is to increase the FOV. The default is really low–like 60 or thereabouts–so by default your view is zoomed way in on whatever bit of landscape is in front of you. Changing that to something in the 85-90 range not only takes away the nausea-inducing “playing the game with blinders on” effect, it also squeezes a lot more of the landscape onto the screen, which has the net effect of making the world look sharper and more detailed. If you haven’t changed your FOV yet, do.

Large Address Aware patch did not break my saves, and it makes the game unstable only if you set ugridstoload too high without having enough memory and SSD.

I used the tweak suggested at PCGamer to change the FOV in Skyrim.ini in Documents http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/11/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-improve-graphics-disable-vsync-change-fov-and-more/ but it keeps reverting back when I use quick travel, any ideas?

You can adjust it back within game, using the console (tilde, then FOV XX)

If you change it in the console, it should stick. It did for me.

Ok will try the console command, thanks guys.

Is that the exact syntax? “fov xx” without the quotes? Should there be an equal sign in there?

No equal sign, and it still might reset after fast travel even when done via console. But easy enough to reset this way, at least.
