Sam: Did you leave the updated Interface.bsa in place?

Yes. I hadn’t taken a full backup of the Skyrim folder, so that file is still the one deployed with 1.2. I tooled around the menus only briefly, but didn’t notice anything obviously broken.

I’m going to experiment - maybe leaving the new Interface.bsa will take care of some of the menu issues.

I guess I’ll play Batman until it’s fixed.

I’m way too addicted at this point. I’ll be playing, with or without the patch.

Unfortunately Skyrim updated for me before I read this news.

I’ll post the 1.1 files this evening for you guys so you can roll back.

Argh. Hopefully I can play on the 360 without it automatically updating.

Yeah I played for about 2 hours with new patch and no problems noticed. Still 100% rock stable with 4GB wrapper.

On the other hand, problem with dragon corpses not despawning correctly is still there. In the middle of Riften city square there is a nice flailing corpse of dragon (not skeleton, but whole corpse) that just won’t go away. Annoying, that.

BTW they should have disabled physics on dragons or something. The way they crazymove everytime I kill them is fucking retarded and I cannot believe they left it like that for release.

It took two full weeks of QA to release these many bugs. How could one expect an hotfix in a day?

It takes a lot of time to patch more bugs into the game.

I sometimes come back to an area where there’s a dragon part, usually a skull, sticking out of the ground and moving about, sort of like it’s undead and still wriggling. Kinda weird.

What are you talking about, I love visiting the Mage College to see my friend Skelly the Speed Humping Dragon Skellington. He’s apparently attempting to blast a boner right through the main door – possibly in a misguided attempt to create the ultimate building/dragon hybrid – and inadvertently abuses wandering mages with his skeletal schlong.

Skelly could put a team of professional porn stars to shame with his size, speed and stamina!

The PC official boards are not as overwhelmed by these reported issues with the patch as you might think if it was universal. Some are saying the resistances bug is universal, but others dispute that. There is also some talk that mods are part of the problems people are having.

I didn’t see anything gamebreaking earlier, so maybe I’m one of the lucky ones.

Can you despawn those dragon skeletons with the console?

Sometimes I feel like I’m in the Truman show, and there’s a bunch of stage hands rushing behind the scenery just as I come over a hill.

“Quick, guys, finish up with those dragon bones. He’ll be here any second!”

“It’s still wriggling, Frank, and it’s a good 30 yards from where we left it last time.”

“No time to worry about it. Here he comes! Hide!”

Here’s the 1.1 files for anyone who needs them:

heh, must be related to the very first dragon my husband killed in his game. It slowly humped it’s way from the guard tower to the gates of Whiterun, where it is now happily humping the wall.

I have three backups of the .exe, now. Shoudl be easy to find on the 'tubes.

I don’t think it is the mods, since it is happening to PS3 and 360 users also. Lots of issues but the most reproducible is all resistance effects no longer work. Conjure up a flame antronauch (sp) and hit him with flames and he is heavily damaged by the flames - do the exact same actions pre-1.2 patch and he takes no damage. Other ways to test confirm the problem. Also, other weird effects - werewolf is supposed to be disease resistant, now many reports of them getting diseases. Appears any form of resistance is now non-functional.

How in the heck they broke this so thoroughly is amazing. Surely the code handling resistance effects wasn’t connected to the things they fixed?

I was at some pissant village just wandering through the cabbage fields like ya do and there was a weird furry… snake… thing with big eyes and horns just sliding through the brassica and i was all like ‘Bethesda you are a more imaginative creator of video games than I gave you credit for because I have never seen a wriggling horned fur worm before’.

Then the goat climbed up out of the ground and started nibbling a cabbage.
