I also killed three dragons at Winterhold… or maybe it was four? Anyways I was hoping their skeletons would accumulate but nope, they disappeared or clipped into the ocean or whatever. LAME, 4/10 on the 7-9 scale.
Awesome story, Skipper, thanks for sharing!
Is your follower affected by the magical buffs of the armors?

I just purchased the PC game and would like to know what tweaks/mods/patches, if any, I should be aware of and the best site to follow these mods and tweaks.
My brain hurts just thinking about reading through the countless pages of posts in just this forum alone, looking for tweak suggestions. Sorry. :(
Damn, those Falmer are creepy. Nothing like being chased by 5 of them.
More than 70 hours already… but at this point i am beginning to grow bored with the game, too samey, I already know all the dungeon designs, traps and mosters, most quests are mediocre and an excuse to visit just another dungeon, etc. I will join the Empire Faction and win the war, and then I will finish the main quest already.
EDIT: Also, at this post the power scale finally broke off. I am a living god, etc etc. Ok, not so much, but the game is easy on “Hard”.

z22, Pogo mentioned in the Mods and Tweaks thread that he’s going to be starting a new one where he (I think) will begin by showcasing the best mods/tweaks in a nice list. You can wait for that or venture over to the aforementioned mods thread but it’s quite long and not organized.

Imagine doing that as a squishy mage, and getting sniped by railguns with the shape of arrows/ice spikes.
Wen I play in a dwemer ruin, I think all the time what happened, what destroyed the civilization. I don’t know if this is know or described somewhere. My own random theory is that a enemy god corrupted the machines to attack his owners. And that the falmers attacked at that moment invading the cities, and eating the survivors.
It makes you think that humans control the surface now, but some magic war could kill all the humans.

For the short version, just follow everything under the Shadows and uGrids sections here (skip Ambient Occlusion unless you have a really beefy system):

That’s taken from Sebmojo’s nice write-up for new users here:

He includes some mods from the Nexus which you might like as well.

Just had an amusing moment, I just left a house and it was early morning. When I got outside I happened to look down and the shadow I saw looked just like a penis. I don’t know if this was intentional, but I got a good laugh out of it.

Agreed. There is something about knowing they are blind, but sitting in sneak mode a few feet away and they seem to know I’m still there. Creepy, for sure.
Anytime. This game has some epic fights. And like a previous person mentioned, it seems they are at a different point for each person playing. I’ve seen only one quick dragon fight at Winterhold.
You need to play Morrowind (or read a plot synopsis) if you want to know what happened to the Dwemer.
Dwemer’s Fate
tl;dr: Their head scientist used the Heart of Lorkhan* under Red Mountain both to try and bring Numidium (a large golem capable of conquering Tamriel) to life under their control and also to attain divinity. The Dunmer and the Dwemer went to war over this and the end result was that every Dwemer on the continent disappeared except for one who lives in the Corprusarium spliced with a Centurion Spider, granted immortality by the Corprus disease. It’s not clear whether the Dunmer performed genocide, the Daedra/Aedra killed them all for blasphemy, or they succeeded in their quest for divinity and ascended.
*Lorkhan is the Aedra that created Nirn, it is said that Nirn is essentially his dead body. The Aedra wanted to destroy Lorkhan (long story) but couldn’t so they just left his heart under Red Mountain. Later the Nerevarine destroys it.
There is an… awful lot of combat in the civil war questline. Normal, I suppose, but still something to comment. You will smack a lot of soldiers, lots of times.
But there is catch: don’t be like me and let the Civil War for the end, because they didn’t level the npcs of the related quests (weird, almost everything level up, with the famous bandits which are harder than some dragons, and they forgot this!) so they are level 10-15 or whatever and I am right now level 45. You can put me in the middle of a big enemy group for a minute, without retaliating, and they couldn’t kill me. LOL.

Thank you kind sir. Good stuff. I did everything in that post but I don’t know if I need to install the “4g patch”. I just installed the game today, do I still need to do this? I remember reading somewhere that they fixed the game to alleviate the need to do this?

Well, what they did was break the way to do it without making Steam think you’re a pirate.
Only do that if the uGrids tweaks is giving you crashing.

I was smithing some stuff in Whiterun and dropped unwanted arrows into the nearby stream. An old lady who walked by went down to the river to pick them up and handed them back to me. “Here you are my dear, you’ve dropped this”

Where did you end up dumping the body?

I heard you could use the friendly npcs ability to pickup stuff you drop as a way to ‘clean’ items from having a ‘stolen’ status. But never got this to work.

I also tried to reverse pick-pocket stolen items on to someone before killing them, but that didn’t remove the stolen status. Really, stealing items you can’t actually use has practical value. It is far to hard to liquidate stolen goods.

It’s gotten to the point where the only thing I steal is actual gold, unless I run across an awesome health potion or a grand soul gem that’s already filled.
