I have evidence to the contrary, how could they not be?
Hundreds of people have the same problem (that’s it, hundreds have commented on internet, the real number is way higher), in fact DF is slow reporting on this problem now, people began commenting it two weeks ago.

- Their PS3(s) is/are dying.
- Their BLURAY laser is failing or dirty.
- Too much cheeto dust and/or mountain dew on their disc.
160 hour game here on a 160 slim with at least 250 saves…NO PROBLEMS.
Zep, you understand that this is a known engine issue since Oblivion, correct? You read the link and saw that one of the devs of Fallout NV commented in the forum and explained the technical reason why this issue exists, yes?
You may not be having issues now, but I’m telling you that DF is just reporting what many people have already noted.

There’s a couple of mods tweaking Destruction you might want to look into. And Aeon221 has a good primer on high level Destro play. Search his (and my) posts on the mods and tweaks threads.
But basically it’s hard mode, as damage doesn’t scale.
It’s also easy mode, as dual cast bolt spells put your enemies into perma stun lock since you can fire them off faster than your enemies can recover.
Edit: once you buy the Impact perk, that is, but you can get it a skill level of 40, so that’s not a limiting factor.
You should really get in contact with them an explain how your anecdotal evidence trumps everything they’ve written. I’m sure any reputable website just wants to get the facts straight.
And while you’re at it, get in touch with the New Vegas guy and explain to him that his dying PS3 was the issue, not some memory problem.

Man this is a long game.
A general question about your impact on the smaller factions:
general question
So, I’ve noticed that the lesser factions you can join have bases that seem to be ripe for expansion. And I know that you can help them do that through delivering companions as potential new members. But I’m wondering just how far the game goes to reflect that. Will those places look significantly different if I make a major effort to help out and recruit?
How does one respec? (aside from starting over.)

PC users have the benefit of console commands to add and remove perks. Console users have the benefit of new character slots.

Wait, you guys get character slots, with their own saved games?

Well, I shouldn’t call them slots. I’m guessing console saves are the same as PC, any unique saves you want must be done manually, and the quick and auto-saves just overwrite each other.

Destruction is pretty awful, honestly. You can cheese enchanting and get 0 magicka cost Destruction spells and with Impact you’ll be able to stagger-chain someone to death, but it’s the equivalent of sitting on someone and flicking their nose until they die of boredom.
I’m level 20 now and have destruction at 57. Was planning to go pure Mage with conjuration as my other main offensive skill.
Since destruction provides diminishing returns at higher levels should i abandon the pure mage route and focus on a melee skill to prevent being gimped in the later parts of the game?

Destruction always stays fairly viable if you don’t outlevel it too fast.
Plus theres the power of double handed Impact Firebolts, which will kill nearly anything in the game for almost no mana by stun locking them if it comes to it.
That said, you need a back up of some sort. That can be another school or two of magic or heavy armor or whatever. I played with any real issues on Adept up to level 40 and had no real problems as a pure mage (Destro, Conj, Alteration). With Conj and Destro you should be perfectly fine. Work a bit on Resto, an armor or Alteration so you aren’t killed as easily (alchemy can work here too as long as you can avoid being one-shotted).

If they want to make Dragons more dangerous thats fine, but make Dragon fights less frequent. Its starting to annoy me how often they turn up.

It’s not the frequency, it’s the randomness of the frequency. Join me Tony, I got tired of getting my ass handed to me by ancient dragons as I’m going to or leaving other quest sites, so I’m bound to advance the main story line a bit, perhaps even finish it.
Those dragons will be sorry, oh yes.
We (SO and I) make new profiles for additional characters. Otherwise I just know I’ll overwrite a saved game.
Totally unrelated, but one of my characters married Sylgja in Shor’s Stone (a great little hamlet with a full feature smithy.) If she’s at the house and I try to sleep there, I get a message that I can’t do that after I’ve been asked to leave. I have to either get into the house before she does (she’s a miner) or after she’s asleep. Anyone else run into a similar issue? (on Xbox.) It’s pretty minor and well worth being able to store the endless piles of stuff I have securely and free of charge.)
Really loving this game. I can’t get enough …

I would encourage moving her somewhere else, then back. It sounds like she shared a residence with someone else? Be sure you actually talk to her about where you want to live, not just go and live there. That should set whatever software flag is needed for it to be your residence.
