Ugh, I was confused. Damn.

Or you were just hoping, like I was, that I just didn’t find out it worked that way until now, and then I could feel elated to go back to playing my dual wielding rogue.
The whole hotkey setup is a mess and perhaps the biggest failing of the game. I should be able to set “sets” of kit/spells/etc to a single hotkey and have a far easier way of moving between shouts and potions.

This is why I never bothered with dual wielding. I knew it was going to be a giant PITA to switch from some configuration back to both weapons again. Id strongly suggest either 2h weapons, sword & board, or a single handed weapon for this reason. You could use bound weapons for a dual wielder, but you will be missing out on custom enchants and uber smithed weapons this way.

Like I say, favoriteskey-leftclick-favoriteskey is really all it takes to get your left hand loaded as a dual wielder. I’ve got it down so fast that I hardly notice it now.
Dual wielding is awesome :-D Who needs defense when you’ve got ultra-offense? And you don’t even need the favorites menu if you’re dual-wielding a left-hand bound weapon and a right-hand enchanted weapon, which there are all kinds of reasons to do (namely, with the right perks, built-in soul trap and banishment!).

Easy solution on their end. Favorite # puts in main hand, shift+# goes into offhand. Done.

Goddam signed.
I’ve put up a threadat the mods forum suggesting just that but got bupkis (though one guy said ‘just use the existing hotkeys, dude!’ which was totally helpful).
I can’t see how it would be a complicated mod, I’m surprised their’s not more clamour for it now the crucial hairy back community has been catered for.
Also, while I’m bitching, why can’t you take things off the favourites menu in the favourites menu? As it is you’ve got to hunt through the menu tree to track down skills/weapons you don’t use any more. Easy solution - hover over it, hit ‘f’.
After going through most of the Dwemer ruins it’s apparent they died off because they couldn’t keep their offspring from falling off catwalks. All that technology and none of them ever invented the handrail that would have saved their civilization.

Well, what you’re not noticing is that the catwalks have Dwemer-metal edges, and back in the day the catwalks were powered. The metallic edges generated a magnetic field that served as a barrier for all the Dwemer residents, who each wore Dwemer armor that interacted with the field in such a way to keep the Dwemer from tumbling off into the abyss.
Unfortunately, such technology no longer fully functions in the ruins.
I knew I should have been reading those damned books.
Damn, this world is so vast and beautiful. Must urgently post two hscroll-breaking 2560x1440 screenshots of my latest nightly excursion! I’ll put them in spoiler tags because of the size but there’s nothing spoilerous in them.

Wandering through this world makes me feel as if the entire world of Oblivion would have fit in a single valley of Skyrim. Those screenshots are from the unmodded game on Ultra, by the way.
I really want to start a screenshot thread… But the hate would hurt my fragile ego.

Enchanting question- so once you enchant an item you can not RE-enchant it can you?
One of my favorite parts was the desolate frozen north, with snow storms, ice, broken chasms, mostly empty of life, etc. It gave the “Hell on Earth… and it’s made of ice” vibe very well.

There’s a perk that lets you put two enchantments on the same item, but I’m not sure of how the mechanics for that work. Other than the possibility of that perk doing what you want, no you can’t re-enchant it (unless you mean recharge existing weapon enchantments).

Bah, I thought so- My nice Orc armor has a health enchant but I did it at such a low level I would like to add a stronger one to it- but no go it seems.
Eh, I have tons of gold - I can find or buy more-
Ah ok cool on the double enchant-I recall in Oblivon it was easy to do- having a weapon with a massive damage enchant and a soul trap to automatically recharge it was quite fun.
Yep, it’s the post-apocalypse trend without being post-apocalypse. I really like the snow storms, but I also like how every now and then the weather clears and you can see snow and ice everywhere around you. Especially with a clear night sky.

Any word on the resist fix ETA? Did it come and go without me noticing?
EDIT: Googlefu does wonders:
Still no definite eta.

HELP!!!
I’m playing a Khajiit archer type and I use my built-in claws for melee. I have a hotkey bound to “healing” (1 of my favorites) and my bow (another favorite) is bound to a different hotkey. Pressing the bow hotkey toggles between equipping my bow and disarming it, leaving me with my two claws.
If I use the “heal” spell hotkey one of my claw hands turns into being able to cast the healing spell. No problem. Here’s where this game is driving me F***** bonkers. I can’t get back to “wielding” my two claws as melee weapons by pressing the “bow” or “heal” hotkeys, any number of times. To get rid a spell in one of my claws I have to go into the “spells” view and remove “heal” as being a favorite.
Please tell me there’s an easier way to switch back and forth between my bow, my claws, and 1 claw as healing spell. Please! I beg you! :)
