The Companions have 6 main quests and 13 Radiant quests.

Also, this made my morning:

That seems impossible. What the fuck have you been doing that whole time?

Obviously stacking cheese wheels.
One special warning that I will give: there is a College quest where you go into a fort, probably through the dungeon. KILL NOTHING IN THE WATER. Not because you shouldn’t kill it (you should), but because, at least on 360, it makes the dungeon utterly unnavigable due to slowdown as the game continuously recalculates and rerecalculates and rerererecalculates the constant unexplained splashing of the dead body, and when I tried to grab a spider and pull him out, it didn’t work out so good.
Making potions and enchanting armor and weapons, doing every little side quest as they come up, trying different styles of play, the usual stuff.
Why, have you been rushing through stuff to level up? What ever for?
Sounds like stuff that ought to have increased your level at a normal rate.
The Thieves Guild has 11 main quests and 14 side/radiant quests.
The College has 10 main quests and 17 side/radiant quests.
Of course, none of these numbers account for the length or difficulty of the quests. Personally, I think the longest dungeon has to be one assigned to the College.

Yeah, that’s pretty much the reality. I’m one of the poor unfortunate souls who have Skyrim for the PS3. Suffice to say I have not played it at all for the last week until 1.3 comes out so at least I have magic resistances back. I’m also finding it difficult to put any time into the game knowing that about 20-30 playing hours (if not sooner) from now the game will start experiencing crushing lag and low fps and that Bethesda are not close to fixing the issue. A Fallout New Vegas developer has stated that it’s an engine-level issue that existed for FO3 and FONV so Bethesda saying that there is no problem and that everything is fine or that they can/may fix it in a patch doesn’t give me much confidence.
I decided to give Bethesda a try on the console with the GOTY edition of Fallout 3, to see if they’d gotten their shit together. Never again.
Skyrim is on my PC, and while it’s less buggy then FO3, I’ve still had to open the console several times to deal with issues.
At least it’s not Daggerfall, with quest items in rooms not physically connected to the rest of the dungeon. Time to hump wall seams until you clip through bitches!

So consoles are fucked because of bugs, PCs are fucked because of console UIs. Bethesda, equal opportunity fuckerupper.
I’m sure I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find vendors with enough cash to buy my stuff.
What’s a normal rate, though? I’m not doing anything unusual or out of the ordinary as far as I know.
To be fair, the console UI is ALSO terrible. Just less so.
Plus you can just use a 360 controller on the PC, which really should be considered part of any gaming rig.
The even stronger argument for going PC though is access to mods, which if Oblivion is any indication are going to be fucking mind blowingly awesome in about 6 months.

I feel, at least on the consoles, that the UI is so much better than the one in Oblivion. Not perfect, not even great - just not the impenetrable, confusing mess in Oblivion.

Although I do have a 360 controller on my PC, to me it is woefully inadequate for a game like this (it would even be moreso if the UI were at all competently designed for a PC).
The only complaint on console that really hits you early and continues throughout is allowing only 2 quickslot spots on the d-pad. Oblivion allowed you to set 8 slots which was a lot better and made more sense. I’d rather have 8 set slots than the stupid Favorites list which is just another inventory.
Other than that issue, the regular inventory can get long and becomes a chore to scroll through at higher levels.
Outside of that, the controller works quite well in Skyrim.

What this game need is a new companion inspired by “bagagge”, a discworld creature.

The first version of Midas Magic for Skyrim is out, and it contains a spell called “The Luggage.”
