I had the exact same Louis Letrush bug. I got a Companion mission to rough him up a bit, and after the brawl outside Whiterun Stables his legless twin appeared, stuck in the ground.

Mirmulnir keeps appearing in random areas of the world to me… dead and searchable but not clickable. I see the Wiki makes a note of this bug.

I just finished a pretty cool quest series in Windhelm. If you’ve visited the city a few times it should trigger if you wander into the
quest location
Fair warning: the quest log may appear bugged out. Just move on to other objectives and you’ll work it out eventually.
I’m still mightily impressed by the sheer volume of content in this game. I think between my two characters (sneaky archer, destruction mage) I’ve repeated a grand total of 1 quest series between the two.

I guess I have Skyrim on my mind, but I was at the christmas market in town last night and felt this hut looked rather familiar…

They were selling glögg (aka glühwein / hot spiced wine) there.

I’ve done this quest a few times, it’s always bugged for me. Even when it isn’t bugged, the main reward for it
reward
the ability to purchase housing in town, but the house you get is a murder scene and is supposed to have the option to clean it up once you’ve completed the quest and start decorating
sometimes ends up being bugged, and stuck in a state where I’d rather not use it.
But it’s an interesting quest, just wish it weren’t so touchy.

Ran into this freakin’ accurate recreation of the game and I have got to spread it around, it’s pure brilliance.
That’s really good. Thanks for sharing that.
I’ve seen at least one more somewhere, too. This guy nails it. For some reason, it makes me want to play Skyrim, like these crazy interactions were part of the charm in hindsight.
The newest iteration of Legacy of the Dragonborn (best Skyrim mod ever) is releasing today!

And then just another month or two until Lexy’s guide gets to something resembling usable. And then a month of installing it (short of using wabbajack or whatever it is). And then not wanting to start a game because LotD 5.1 is incoming.
Pretty sure that’s been the cycle since at least LotD 3.x!
Hey, I was able to able to compress the mod setup to three weeks - modern mod managers make a huge difference ;)
So lay it on me. What can I expect from Legacy?
Legacy basically sets the game up with an entirely different over-arching goal of playing the game like a medieval fantasy Indiana Jones, collecting the ridiculous amounts of magical and special items scattered over Skyrim and bringing them to a museum for all the world to see (and to protect against Naz—er, fantasy bad guys getting their hands on them.
The vanilla game still runs alongside, but your participation in it really is less about Stormcloaks vs. Imperials (because let’s be honest; they’re both jerks) and more about the artifacts.

I picked up Skyrim again last month after years away (‘finished’ a game way back with the original release on Xbox 360 and played only sparingly on PC after I got it on steam.) My mod list is relatively light (100 or so compared against the 100’s many do and I’ve forgone any of the smashing and mashing and merging) but the eight year old game still looks amazing. I’m just blown away by what mod authors can do (not to mention, I’m still discovering stuff from the vanilla game despite 100’s of hours played.)
Planning on spending the next week redoing my mod list to include LotDB. I have two weeks off for the holidays and it looks like I’ll be spending a fair chunk of that in Tamriel.
Awesome! If you’re interested in a few more mods, check the patches list linked on the LotDB site. Those mods should all integrate pretty seamlessly (with the patch file) without any bashing or merging as long as you’re using a solid mod manager for ordering purposes (Vortex is the “official” Nexus-flavored organizer, while Mod Organizer 2 is a popular “third party” one).
I’ll also say if anyone likes decent followers, I’ll recommend a handful I enjoyed (all are fully-voiced):
Inigo: very humorous, deep story, tends to be a bit OP (especially if you rush to him early, with his starting equipment), but honestly I didn’t mind because it made sense with the story. Just absolutely fantastic; if you’re only going to do one follower mod, do this one. Location: Riften jail, which gives you your first bit of his story; talk to him.
Lucien: snarky, adds color commentary, light (and sadly easily missed - do his quest!) story involved, NOT overpowered but can be set to warrior or mage and trained up (including being taught spells). I really enjoyed him a lot. Location: Falkreath, in Dead Man’s Drink
Recorder: psycho-but-friendly, light and goofy (and gently fourth wall breaking) story involved, a slight bit OP (with starting equipment, but that can be sold/discarded if you’d like). Great voice actor, fwiw. Location: Riverwood, Sleeping Giant Inn
M’rissi’s Tails of Troubles: heavier/more involved story, good follower for sneaky archers (as she is one) and those with avenging natures. Location: AFTER a scripted battle on the road south of Whiterun—just keep going west past the turn for the city and you can’t miss it—you’ll be prompted to head back to Riverwood; ask at the inn, and you’ll shortly come across her.
Of course, Skyrim is balanced for one (1) follower at a time, although mods aplenty exist to create your own party. If you do that with the above, Lucien, Inigo, and Recorder will occasionally converse with each other to a very limited extent (mod creators built in this cross-talk feature).
Thanks! I’ve been using Vortex and although reddit hates it I haven’t had any issues.
I have NFF (Nether’s Follower Framework) installed and have been using two (generic) followers. I bumped up the difficulty to Master and have tracked down a few more mods to raise the levels of the AI (although having two followers did not alas prevent my spellsword guy from getting decapitated by a bandit lol.) I do plan on installing Inigo and/or Lucien for the next play through. Haven’t decided on a character build yet though (I’ve done two different characters since I started up again. Hard for me not to play sneaky archer, not because it’s OP, I just really enjoy it. Maybe a thief-illusionist.)
Yeah, Vortex is great. A lot of opinions on mod managers got formed when it was in beta and didn’t have all the features it now does, and changing the mind of the average Internet denizen can be difficult at best, lol.

Does Vortex do the whole virtual directory trick that Mod Organizer does? That was the killer reason MO was so heavily favored over NMM, and is vital for being able to easily disable installed mods. While I agree people get set in their ways (my response is proof), I would NOT use a mod manager that didn’t have an equivalent method of functioning.
To be fair, my modding of Skyrim was always Neovalen/Lexy over-the-top-cram-250-mods in. I suspect Vortex is better for “casual” less stupid-size overhauls.
My current load order has 298 plugins and runs without a hitch. Vortex (made by the creator of Mod Organizer along with the help of others) is thankfully NOT even remotely comparable to NMM. Its only relation is being the default for Nexus.
You can enable or disable mods with the press of a button in Vortex, and then they all redeploy for the game. I have an older PC (i5-2500k with mechanical drives) and a load order that long. I just disabled a mod (the author advised it had some janky scripting, so I’ll sideline it for now) and it redeployed everything and was ready to go 22 seconds after that single click. It’s very easy to use large load orders with.
edit - that said, there’s nothing inherently wrong with MO2. I’d use whichever you’re more comfortable with (though everyone should avoid NMM like the plague). Rather, it’s just this weird, borderline irrational opposition to Vortex I see pop up in lots of places which makes me scratch my head a lot.

I have been meaning to start another game, not played ina long time, Really fancy Legacy of Dragonborn, also downlaoding Vortex.
Is there a decent link to mods that will play nice with lod. I am not big on additional quests or followers but any advice will be much appreciated
