Seriously. I’m as much a sucker for collector’s, limited, special, etc editions, but there used to be a time they’d be $10-30 more. Now, at 2.5-3x the price of the regular edition, it’s getting a tad crazy. Still, I don’t begrudge the people who want to spend that much for the book and statue; it’s just pushed a little beyond what I’m willing to pay for the game.

They are seeing there is a good amount of hype for their game, so it’s time to exploit the fanboys!

Wait until about six weeks after release, and then watch as they try to dump their leftover stock of Collector’s Edition boxes for $60.

If I had a ton of money and didn’t care where or how I spent it, I’d be all over that CE.

No, I’m guessing you’d be all over the hookers 'n blow.

Still no Steamworks confirmation for Skyrim right?

The thing I have to think about is would I buy that statue and/or art book if I came accross them on maybe Amazon.com or in a store? Well, no, probably not. So why would I buy them now for $100? Uh… no thanks.

They do look cool, grats to those folks who take the plunge.

Relevant:

I, too, am a CE whore but completely agree this is over the line. I will get the artbook from eBay. Not that they were
offering it but I will get the OST straight from Jeremy Soule’s website if nothing else.

That statue would look awesome in my fish tank.

oh, I thought this was the thread for the new game by Notch, my bad.

Giggle.

…and im betting its made of cheap materials that would corode and kill all the poor fishies

OBLIVION PATCH v1.2.0416
Oblivion_v1.2.0416English.exe(5.1 MB) 04/30/2007
This patch is for North American (English) versions.

This patch is NOT compatible with copies purchased via direct2drive or localized versions of Oblivion.

And this is required to play Nehrim, because bugs on older versions that corrupt savegames.

Well… I am not going to buy Skyrim in D2D this time. I don’t even blame D2D for this, but anyway don’t seems the place to buy a game like Skyrim (and absolutelly not for Oblivion).

The D2D Oblivion patches are available here. Doesn’t work with tools like OBSE though.

possible lame post

It seems to be a bit dodgy at the moment, I just tested and got the 500 too, but it worked after a refresh.

If the $150 CE included a code for all Skyrim DLC, then I’d probaby buy it. And maybe for $90ish, but that listed price is just silly for what’s included.

I wish CEs would include something useful - a tea shirt, key chain or coffee cup.

It’s got a big paperweight.
