Better yet: Include the game on DVD and on a USB flash stick/keychain. Quick-install the game from the flashstick and then wipe it and keep the flash as a keyring branded with the game’s logo so everyone sees how big of a dork you are. I’d be more willing to bite, anyway!
+1 !
How about a wallet or laptop bag?
Something to do with gaming would be nice too, like say a mouse pad with a game map printed on it or a mouse with detailed artwork.

The Napoleon total War “Emperor’s” edition had a “field journal” which was essentially a (faux) leather bound notebook with a big buckle strap so it looked vaguely like something a soldier in the Napoleonic era might have used. Also contained the now de rigueur statuette.
Being a sucker for both collectors editions and stationary, i bought that one :-)

My recent collectors edition purchases include witcher 2, Napoleon TW, Civ V and Fallout New Vegas. So I am a massive sucker for these things. The Skyrim collectors edition is massively MEH though, will be going digital with this one. (or ordering from UK mailorder if they put up the regional pricing)
Those monsters have taken it down. Why!?

That statue didn’t just appear out of thin air when they saw the hype was good. They planned this a long time ago.

Let me tease you. The menu for the magic powers stats is FREAKING AWESOME.
What was on the video is something you probably have already see, but unedited.

I still managed to watch the Quakecon video (gogo youtube cache); so far, my thoughts:
-
the interface, specially the item listing and skills menu are, for lack of a better word, gorgeous.
-
beautiful dog, looked like a irish wolfhound, I hope they let us have one as a combat buddy/pet or at least someone mods that in.
-
spell comboing looks pretty good, the detect life - fire ball thingie - frenzy combo was awesome; basically he detected life, saw two enemies, fireballed one setting him on fire then frenzied him so he ran towards the other enemy.
-
atmospheric conditions look great too (procedurally generated snow cover on objects, snow storms/blizzards, etc).
-
spells look great, though I’m thinking they’ll be rather overpowered when compared to melee combat
-
you can “do the gandalf” aka wield staff and sword or even dual wield staffs.
Overall, pretty good. If the community continues to be as devoted to modding Skyrim as they have been towards Oblivion it’ll be brilliant.
Do they ever talk about how duel-wielding melee weapons work? If it’s just Left click and Right click to use left or right weapons… I guess I don’t see the point. Hopefully it’s a little more interesting than that?
The interface looks nice to look at, but I wonder if it won’t get annoying fast.
And I wonder if it will be re-designed somewhat on the PC or not.
Hefty sword in one hand for slow hard blows and a quick dagger in the off-hand for slipping in quick stabs? Could be pretty tactical/fun.
First you need a glove equipped. Right-click to slap your target across the face. Then you have a Diplomatic skill check to determine terms. Then you need to go find a second, and show up later at a specific location and time for your duel.
Dual-wielding weapons, however, will probably be either left-click/right-click or left-click/shift-left-click.
As I feared, it sounds like dual-wielding will be fairly useless, compared to having an off-hand shield or just a huge two-hander in your mitts. That’s okay, but hopefully they come up with something a little more interesting.
Also Mightynute, thanks. I had JUST got out of bed when I made that post, so you’ll cut me a little slack, I trust. :)

I can’t see how it wouldn’t degenerate into clicking your mouse buttons alternately as fast as you could.

Doesn’t seem like “fun” to me, especially compared to a shield or spell.

To be honest. Combat has always suck on all Elders Scrolls games. With this dual thing at least will be much more varied. Maybe it will be allowed to be fun!?. People that like shield+1H can play shield+1H.
Yeah, Oblivion melee got really old, really fast.
Pistols at dawn, sir!
My hope for dual-wielding would be to treat attacks like single-weapon, but with different animations depending on weapon type, increased damage, and the option to get some fun combos with on-hit weapon effects in rapid succession.
Sword-and-sword should fight differently than sword-and-axe should fight differently than axe-and-club, etc.
