Aside from a couple decent posts here and there, the last 40 or so pages are packed full of idiocy. I think those that are disappointed in Elemental have made their point, pretty loud and clear I might add. God help anyone who came to this thread actually thinking they could get some good impressions on the game itself. Instead, they get pages and pages of useless nonsense by so-called “industry insiders” and legions of armchair game designers.

I’ve been a member on this board for awhile now, and I honestly have never seen it this bad. It’s not the new people signing up, it’s the same group of jackasses over and over again. These people seem to be under the impression that their obsessiveness with this site should somehow translate into respect for their opinion. I wonder if they even get a small hint of how pathetic that is, or if they are just blissfully ignorant to that fact. (Personally, I think it’s the latter…)

Anyways, didn’t mean to derail the thread. Everyone can get back to bashing the game, even the morons who haven’t played it yet. I won’t be back in here again, and as I’ve made it abundantly clear many times in the past, your opinions mean dick to me anyway. Feel free to flame on, I’m sure you’ll feel better about yourself and others will definitely get a laugh.

To everyone else who came here to honestly have a good discussion about the game, sorry to say you’ve come to the wrong thread. I believe there is a gameplay thread around here somewhere, but I’m pretty sure the same douchebags have started posting over there too. Just do like I did, find another message board for meaningful game discussion. Only come here when you want a good laugh, or to feel better about yourself and your life.

But watch out, because even though this thread was deemed “finished” and released to the public a few weeks ago, the multi-quote still hasn’t been turned on (and won’t until the forums have been upgraded a further three versions), the GUI for picking a smily needs a lot of work, email notifications of replies go to the wrong email address, and the report button blue screens your computer and corrupts your cookies.

But this is the best thread that Qt3 has ever released! :)

So are you saying you think that games that start as being bad and then improve tend to become better than games that start as being good, or do you really enjoy the change in quality (the turning good) more than the peak level of quality (how good it actually gets)? If the former, then you’re not a sucker, you just have bad taste. Master of Magic was a good game when it was released, and then lots of bugs were fixed and the AI was improved and it got even better. GalCiv2 was mediocre to bad when it was released, and years later it is merely mediocre to rather poor. If the latter, you’re not a sucker, just weird. Weirdo.
