Odd. I got my LE on Friday, and that’s after having travelled across the Pacific Ocean. Haven’t opened it yet though.
You have been QQing about the stardock forums for dozens of pages now.

What’s this thread doing on the second page? Come on, people, get it together.

The game still doesn’t run like it should for me. I’m not sure what the deal is but the game just starts to slow down after a while.

Elemental killed my father and raped my mother. Brad Wardell watched.
It sounds like you’re the proud owner of a game with a memory leak. Congratulations! Suggested fixes are:
- Don’t play the game
- Wait for a patch
- Play the game on a computer with different hardware
- Hope that the leak is caused by a particular setting, magically learn which setting that is, then turn it off.
This message has been brought to you by your local Frustrated Software User Association. We hope this advice helps you with your problem.

According to Brad on the TMA podcast, a lot of computers seem to have problems with a little graphical “outline” the game draws around things as part of the art style. He claimed that turning that off solved a lot of problems and recommended doing that while they work on the problem. Apparently thats in the graphical options.

Ok I’ll try that. That seems really weird.
I don’t understand the LE problems. Are these from people who ordered from Stardock directly? I pre-ordered from Amazon, and mine shipped on the release day. I haven’t played it yet (or installed it), as Dan and I have both said why we are just going to let it sit on the shelf for a bit, but I got it right away.

Yeah, people who ordered directly. Apparently a fair number of people have yet to receive theirs. Stardock hired a third party firm to handle the shipments and it appears mistakes were made, with some people having received duplicate orders while others haven’t seen a thing. Stardock claims they don’t have tracking information to give out either. There have been a few posts on the Elemental boards about it, but those get locked and the Stardock reps there say people have to get ahold of Stardock sales, even when the complaints are about a lack of any response from Stardock sales.
As if the condition of the game a release wasn’t bad enough.
Wow, that stinks. Oh, I just realized that this would make it impossible to get a refund too, right? Since you can’t send it back I mean. Really messed up, for those who want a refund.
does that come after dynasties in the tech-tree?
Well, you’re not missing much when it’s running anyway.

I just got my LE box today, so apparently it is taking a completely random amount of time for people to get these.
The problem is that the time for delivery is a straight 1DN rather than being weighted…

The 90 day thing is what got me. Honestly, fuck Stardock. I don’t care if 90 days is reasonable. They dangled out the beta early last year and I feel like a chump for biting, like one of those people that bought a pewter figure to get in the Hellgate beta.
I’ll keep the game but it’s very likely the last Stardock anything I buy.
Glad I’m not the only one who has yet to receive their SE copy in the mail.

Because you can either
a) have conditions and enforce them
OR
b) not have conditions.
Choose one.
As a general principle, if you don’t methodically enforce your conditions people will always find the customers who got an exception and demand the same treatment.
From a PR standpoint it’s much better to just smile and say “no problem” if your actual goal is to retain customers long-term.
Agreed here.
