I hate saying this, as it will encourage more trolling, but that tactic has worked at least once in the past, as I mentioned earlier.
Then again, in a case such as Elemental, I think full refunds should be offered to anyone who wishes (though I don’t wish one and am looking forward to how the game develops) up to patch 1.10.

Your comment is exactly why I didn’t want to say it again. It’s not that I don’t like the culture, it’s that a couple of posters were unwelcoming to a fellow member who was participating in a discussion thread.

What’s unclear? I paid to be a beta-tester, gave feedback, got flamed by Brad Wardell and banned from their forums. As you can imagine that pissed me off and I demanded a refund as I didn’t want anything to do with a company that flames and bans their beta testers for giving exactly what they asked for, feedback.

The only thing that could have truly saved SD’s reputation as a software developer that handles things differently would have been a full product recall, like you can occasionally see with cars or electrical appliances.
In the software world, this is something unheard of, but Elemental’s state of complete brokenness would probably have warranted it.
Financially independent or not, I can see how SD probably lacks the funds to go through with something like that, but if they had the funds, at least they could have continued to point their fingers at others and proclaim: “See, nobody but us ever did that - we realized we messed up and stood up to the consequences.”, which now they can not.

Yes, you said multiple times you were being ignored. The question is what changed? What happened differently for you to end up getting the refund when previously you weren’t able to?

Saying I was being ignored is not the same as saying they won’t give it to me as you said. I said I was being ignored in my daily requests for updates. I followed the advice in this post: http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showpost.php?p=2371470&postcount=5072
I waited instead of requesting an update every day.

Except if someone followed what you just typed, then nothing would happen. They would have to “Request refund from support” first. And that’s what I said many pages ago, that I’d requested a refund from support. ;)
When maxle asked why I got a refund I answered. What’s so hard to understand about that?
