Come on Brad or Island Dog – he’s begging for it. PROVE HIM WRONG! Then we can all have a good laugh at his expense :)

From what I know, beta 4 was the last public beta. Unless something changed while Brad was on his tour, beta 5 was internal.

Lots of previews should be coming out soon. Here are some walkthrough videos from Gametrailers that were released today.

Ok. Thanks :)

Edit;

Also for those who aren’t interested in walkthrough trailers: the opening cinematic.

Wow, I really didn’t like the narrators voice in that opening cinematic. At least I never have to watch it again :)

~C~

While a bit harsh, I tend to agree - it honestly sounded like he was someone who could have done a good job with the material but that he was trying too hard to sound like a voice he couldn’t quite emulate. It’s a little odd, because I’ve greatly enjoyed the voicework that Stardock has done in the past.

PS - I’d offer up my deep baritone for free should they ever feel they need it. ;)

The narrator’s voice gave me the heebie-jeebies, which would be great, if it was a horror game.

Ah bummer… was hoping for a Beta 5 birthday present!

Now I suppose it is time to ignore Elemental until the 24th.

Yeah, it sounded a lot like he was going for an old-sage voice, but, well, he didn’t sound old.

Yeah, that voice is pretty bad. He’s trying too hard to sound like a stereotypical fantasy narrator and it sounds forced.

Its voiceovers like that which tell me I’d have a promising future in voice work if I wanted one. It honestly sounds like the guy is trying not to laugh into the mic.

That voice would have worked well if there had been some Monty Python style humor in there somewhere. As it was, it didn’t fit.

When I read the fiction book that accompanies the game I’m going to have to try really hard not to read it in that narrators voice. I guess an alternative would be reading the words in Brad’s voice, perhaps the Michigan accent will add character.

Preordered…

But I’ll skip the 1700+ posts!
Yikes.:)

Am I the only one who thought off an old version of Kermit the Frog when I heard the voiceover on the otherwise very nice opening cinematic?

That voice over is horrible, forced and robotic.

I figured you all must be exaggerating, but it really is a poor voice over. He sounds like he’s constantly fighting a tickle in his throat that’s about to make him cough. Cutting words short like he’s afraid too deep a breath will set him off.

Yeah, I have to admit I was too distracted by his voice to care about what he was saying.

There was something about the delivery that reminded me a bit of Torgo from Manos: Hands of Fate. The touch of warble. The intro should include the line “The Master would not approve” for me to be sure.

to add to the previous feedback, the voiceover is pretty bad, not sure why exactly … it sounds forced? Usually I manage to forget about the voice itself and focus on the meaning/narrative but this time just could not get past the voice

for an intro movie it’s pretty bad

it’s pretty silly but people are going to remember that voiceover for a long time and not for the right reasons.

Just get Brad to do the voiceover, per the other vids he’d actually be better IMHO
