>Amazing. My wife hears this the same way.
So do I. Love the shirt…
I also liked the Harmless, Penniless, Aimless shirt. Good choices by the guy who popped those up there.
It’s amazing to think this game has memes. There must be a ton of young new players that have never touched the original.
Not that you old farts couldn’t come up with a meme, but still.

The number of posts I’ve seen asking for raid content and purple quality loot drops seems to confirm that!
Between WoW conditioning people on what to expect from a “MMO” and the AAA industry’s love affair with unlock-based progress, I see a lot of people that have no idea what to make of this game.
After I posted, I wondered if there was any overlap with EVE players. I’d imagine those kids know their memes.
Aside: the unl0ckablez thing is funny. Check the Steam forum for any obscure indie game based on repeated playthroughs, like a shmup or brawler, and people will be asking for things to unlock to feel like they’re making progress.
Indeed, I’m Midshipman with the Feds, which I got more by accident than design by simply trying to make money running missions in Federation space. I started getting Black Ops missions as soon as I put some seriously weaponry on my Cobra including the interdictor. Not sure if this was coincidence, but it feels like I’m being… watched. The advantage of this route is that eventually I can betray them and turn rebel, whereas the other way around would be tragic.

What weapons are you running now with your Cobra, krok?
Damn. A pirate who was red to me already started shooting at me. So I shot back. Except, my scanner didn’t determine him as wanted yet. So I incurred a fine. And the 5 Vipers that were shooting the pirate began tearing me apart. This is stupid.
Well, by “serious weaponry” I should have said “more serious weaponry” by which I mean not the stock pulse lasers! So right now it’s hardly bristling with death-dealing pewpew, butjust two fixed E rating class 1 beam lasers and a gimballed G rating class 1 multicannon, plus B rating class 1 seeker missiles. This is actually very effective, as my black ops target Gen. Whatsisname just found out to his cost. Quite a fight, but my first Federal Dropship done solo. Interestingly he was clean when I first found him, but quickly realised what my mission was and opened fire. Ah thank you, Gen. Now Wanted. I’m trying to find some better beam lasers, but actually not many places seem to sell them. I love fixed beam lasers, the way you can write your molten initials on your enemy’s hull, although the multicannon tears the hull up faster.
I’m no longer a midshipman with the Feds, now I’m a petty officer.

I finally found a place where I can trade between two systems. One way profit is $1,000 per item, and returning the back way is $450 per item. Is this any good?
Krazykrok - what is the interdictor? Is it a ship? A device? A loadout on a ship?

I was scanning asteroid belt clusters in some backwoods independent sector, and to bump the excitement level up a couple notches, I’d lock onto a USS after every scan. One dropped me in with a Wanted cobra, and I gleefully grinned in anticipation before the two system authority anacondas tore it apart before I could even get close! How that backwater of a sector could afford anacondas is beyond me…

I’m still doing Fed-Ex missions when I can (started getting interdicted by pirates a lot, however.). Why is it that bulletin boards say a mission offers X dollars, but upon launching and checking mission status the amount offered is a lot less?
I’ve settled on my slightly dashing, overly-literal, and extremely-generic sci-fi name.
Call me Commander Jed Omicron.
So I just blew up for the first time in weeks. I got interdicted by an Imperial Clipper nowhere NEAR Imperial space, humorously enough…and ran into it. Boom.
I’m still laughing.
In order to keep from crying? :/
My calves hurt after using rudder pedals for 5 minutes from smashing them to the limit to try to get a little yaw.
We’re not in WWI anymore.
It’s also funny how I can’t decide whether to use TrackIR to look out the roof of my cockpit or consult the scanner in order to follow where an enemy craft is going. :)

There is something odd going on or maybe I just don’t understand the system (or maybe it’s more punishing for little mistakes that I believed).
I’ve spent 30 hours in the same 2 systems. They’re Federally held and sympathetic to them. I did a bunch of bounty hunting and the only ships that had bounties on them also flashed a Fed logo when I scanned them (but they definitely were not Federation Security Vessels). I’ve made some silly mistakes like getting caught smuggling a few times and my turret fired on (briefly) a Fed Security vessel once. But my rep with the Federation is now way down to “Unfriendly” and I’ve NEVER killed a Federal Military nor Security ship.
So my question - is my Federation rep getting hurt by killing people with bounties on them with that Fed icon flash? Or does that quick flash when scanning or switching to a wanted fighter mean that’s who will pay the bounty?
Thanks!
Nah, I could easily afford the rebuy, and only lost 120k in bounty vouchers.
That’s more than I’m making (around 1,100 CR per item per round trip, so 32,000 CR with a 32-bay Cobra) so yeah, for non-rares and a short hop that seems decent. My profit margins are slowly rising though, as presumably my meager attempts at influencing the economy are being outstripped by demand. Not that I’m complaining. If I could afford to buy Palladium in bulk I could greatly increase that, but I’m not rich enough to make it worthwhile… yet.
An interdictor is a Frame Shift Drive Interdictor, an internal module that you fit to your ship. There are multiple ratings and classes as with everything else, the better the module the greater the range.
What is a rare? How is this different from the commodity market?
