That new comms panel is fucking awkward as shit to use. Not only because it’s just fucking weird in and of itself (I have to use command lines? really?), but unlike the left and right UI panels, the comms panel does NOTHING in headlook mode. Nope, just sits there, waiting for me to hit the 2 key. Fuck you panel, I’m looking RIGHT AT YOUR ass, that means I wanna use you. Get with the program or get out. #bitchandmoan

It took a while for me to set up the edtracker because I didn’t watch the video at first and who needs to carefully read instructions anyway? Once I did get it all sorted I promptly flew to an interesting sounding market, began docking, fumbled around for the landing gear controls, accidentally hit my thruster button and careened straight into the station. I didn’t like that ship anyway.

Next on the to-do list is binding my important controls to sensible and easy to remember switches.

Oh, also, drop your gear a few clicks out. Can’t boost with gear down. I find that helps avoid those very types of accidents.

With today’s update, the price of the Vulture has dropped from 22M to 5M CR. Finally, folks have something nice to aim for between the Cobra and Asp. (Also the Federal Dropship has had a price reduction, from 38M to 20M CR, as has the Fer-de-Lance, but the station I’m currently docked with doesn’t have any of the latter in stock, so I have no clue what its new sticker price looks like…)

Nope, only the FDL, Vulture and Fed. Dropship saw price reductions. That said, bounty hunting and exploration rewards have basically doubled, so those upper tier ships should be easier to reach.

I’ve found the changes to USS’s to be very helpful. Weak Signal Sources are what you look for for illicit cargo, although I’ve occasionally found single small ships hiding out in them. Unidentified Signal Sources get you more or less what you’d expect from before, with pirates and bounty hunters and maybe convoys. Strong Signal Sources are what you want for wings. I was curious to see what I’d find (solo) so I hit one up and and stumbled on three Anacondas laying in wait!!! Needless to say I hightailed it right out of there…
