I just had a pretty amazing evening, it was also exhausting, but at the end of 3ish hours, I’d made around 8 million credits, and had a ton of fun.
I headed down to Fehu and got a few missions, all of the long distance missions they’d let me take. When I was about to depart, I noticed one of the missions had to be done in 30 minutes. I had to get 320 LY in 30 minutes, and two of the other missions were at 38 and 45 minutes.
I’ve never flown as long a route as quickly before in my life. I barely scooped just enough to make it the entire way without any further scooping, but with maybe 5 minutes to spare, I made it to my first stop. Then my second with four minutes to spare. The final rush mission had me arrive at the outpost six minutes before it expired…and all the pads were full. I kept hitting the docking button but kept getting denied. With maybe 3 minutes left, I was able to dock.
This took a lot out of me, as I had to fight a lot of interdictions, but I still had several more missions to finish all over the area. I THEN noticed ANOTHER mission to advance in the Imperial Navy, this time from Outsider to Serf, so of course I had to take it. This involved picking up some trade data, so I had to scour for a weak signal source. First, I began hunting in the wrong system, as I misread the mission description, so when I finally go to the right system and found the trade data, I was elated, and opened my cargo scoop…
Or so I thought. It my fatigue, I dumped all my cargo, which included five tons of cargo needed for my last long haul mission. In trying to scoop them back up…I destroyed two of them. ARG. Thankfully an outpost nearby had some to sell, so after I picked up the illegal trade data, I headed there to rebuy the cargo, of which they had JUST enough. I then flew down and turned in my last mission for the night.
I am so spent, but I’m now a Serf and 8 million creds richer. I am so doing another one of these runs this weekend, SO FUN.
I also love how, at every system once you’ve picked up cargo, someone’s there to stop you, either to give you info or to interdict you. Makes for a crazy trip, and it’s great.
So yeah, loving these long runs. Can’t wait to do more. Thanks again ConVurt for the tip!
