Oh, is that what was masslocking me.
I was going to post something here but I figure I’ve had enough of Tom banning me over images
Ah yes that is exactly the kind of thing i’m talking about (i also had that with Civ3), so thank you for your understanding of my Elite pain :)
Lol. Classic Brian :) Sorry i’m bummed by ED so much it pains everyone…it can have a happy ending though.

In other news, I done find my first real never been seen before blue planet with indiginous life. So if you’ll excuse me, commander schurem will now retire to give these green skinned hottie babes that have never seen a butch pink skinned starman some intimate cultural exchange :D

Ah, TOS never disappointed on that score. A young Mariette Hartley, a youngish Diana Muldaur? Yes please.
Huh. Apparently Horizons is still in early access and has officially been delayed.
you can buy shares in Frontier? i suppose that’s a better bet for your $30k than buying Star Citizen ships…
Eh. Reads to me as if they are just deferring revenue util their new financial year for tax purposes. 2.1 is still coming out in April. They are just keeping the early access label (rather than calling it released) so they can claim the revenue in the 1st quarter of their new financial calendar.
No impact on customers, in other words.
Sure, there’s no real news for us players. I’m just saying I didn’t even realise it was technically early access. I mean, Frontier’s communication around these seasons has been pretty haphazard in general, but it seems kind of nuts on the face of it to be officially releasing Horizons “coinciding with the planned launch of [its] next expansion”. So, according to the nomenclature they’re using, they’ll have already released several expansions to Horizons before releasing Horizons.

They did actually send out a communication regarding how and why they were labeling Horizons, IIRC. But yes, their communication in general is… ass.

Well, beside the fact the patch has been delayed.
They were planning 4 cycles along the year, so one every three months. One wonders if they’ll even finish deliver this plan before they have to launch the next expansion pack.
It also seems the later patches are less substantial, so maybe they can easily release them in shorter cycles.

How do you figure? Multicrew ships is yuge.
C’mon, Kevin, you know HRose is attuned to the very nature of what makes Elite: Dangerous as crappy as he thinks it is. Your even asking is an insult.

I have my browser so it takes up half of my second monitor. Unfortunately, Qt3 made a change a while back (side panel ads, maybe?) so that I no longer can see the name/avatar of the poster unless I scroll over. It wasn’t until after I responded that I noticed who I was replying to, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. I’d just go read his blog.

I consider “huge” systems that fundamentally change or enrich the game.
Multicrew ships are only targeted to those who want multiplayer, and I assume they are always a minority of those who play Elite as single-player. It’s “optional” content.
I don’t know exactly how complex they are to implement and what kind of features they imply. But it can theoretically be “minor” if it’s about splitting controls and simply add some ship features.
The rest like commander faces require lots of art work, but adding a “face” doesn’t have ripple effects on other systems. It’s just a self-contained thing. Then there’s “fighters”. And that’s it for what they disclosed.
None of these features seem to me deeply integrated with the game on a basic level like a crafting system, complete mission overhaul and improved flight AI.
I think once you accept that ED is a MP game (yeah bare with me), it is easy to accept it for what it is, a MP game. No really it is, atleast they are designing it as that, while being ham-strung with all the usual MP issues on-top of technical problems with their instancing system etc.
So yeah, try to forget the SP part of ED, even if you and probably most people play it as a SP game, it will make much more sense once you can manage to team up in a Wing and shoot stuff. That is the pinnacle they are aiming for here.
