I’m at work so going from memory, but I found a screenshot:

Yes thank you found it and selected it. And I finally found a link to some bindings that fixed the problem! The issue was I had nothing mapped to actually move the cursor on my HOTAS, so I could rotate the map fine it was always just rotating around a stationary point. Once i got that i figured out it now works like a charm.

yeah guess it was a dumb joke :P

Agape, you are a VR user, right? You NEED to get horizons because flying a hopped up imperial eagle through a canyon in VR. yeeeehaw!

Speaking of VR, does anyone know if Elite still offers support for the DK2? I recently built a new computer and haven’t gone through the process of reinstalling my OR software yet, but I still have the configuration files that I used in my original Elite installation.

yes it does but you need to measure your IPD (interpupillary distance) yourself and hack it into a config file. It works fine otherwise.

Some summaries of what’s coming with 2.2 that’s been released by FD at Gamescom:

Day One news: Passengers, VIPs, the beluga liner, changes to route plotting

Day Two news: Ship launched fighters and the NPC pilots you can hire to fly them

Day Three news: More starport variety, planetary maps, bounty, bond and fine brokers, ship and module transfer

So, this is on sale this week on Xbox Live. You can get the game cheap ($20) or the game, Horizons, and additional skins cheap ($35), but they aren’t discounting Horizons by itself ($30). Stupid. Ah, well.

while the game is on xbone, it belongs on the pc imo.

Well luckily for you it seems to exist on both.

It’s good on both. I own it on both.

I don’t own Horizons on either one, and I was also irritated to see there was no sale on Horizons.

The only problem with performance I have on the Xbox is that the local/galaxy maps take waaay to long to load. Other than that it’s great.

Thanks for the heads up! Downloaded, hope to fire it up tonight on the Bone.

I wonder what’s the plan now. I was one of those believing they were going for shorter “seasons”. But we are at part 2 of 4 this October, if the patch doesn’t get more delays.

Part 4 of 4 has no plans disclosed, so it might as well be light on content, but it’s now kind of close to impossible they can release all four AND the first component of a new season within the year.

So we can expect this one season to last longer than a year, and I’m pretty sure this is going to have some impact on the business side.

Ok, I am completely in awe of this game and baffled at the same time. In awe of the star chart and all the stars and planets, and baffled by the flight controls and save system.

So I did some training, then jumped in my first ship which was the Horizons version of the starting ship, which meant it had a landing buggy thing. I never got to use it though because I flew to the science station, requested docking, landed, and then sat there while a timer ran out. All of a sudden my ship was destroyed. I guess I should have pressed some button?

Anyway then it said I could have a free starting craft again and started me at the station again but my rover thing is gone. Is this for real? I’m learning the interface and they take away my ability to land on planets?

Tell me that’s not right. How do I get my rover thing back?

You were probably facing the wrong direction.

You’re kidding me.

Nope! :) You can only land on the pads facing in one direction. When the landing assist UI shows up, the ship should be facing forward, i.e. north-south.

The game does come with tutorials yes?

I guess the space control tower guy is obsessive compulisve enough to destroy all the guys who parked their craft wrong. Kinda like facing Mecca when praying thing.

You can get your “rover thing” (called a Scarab, IIRC) in the Outfitting part at most stations. It’s not very expensive. Although until such time as you do, you should do a bit of trading and missions between space stations to earn some cash.
