Crash Fixes
Fix for crash seen during processing of the render queue

Tweaks and general fixes
Fix for sudden Starport rotation jumps
Fix for game time getting out of sync between clients
Fix for multiple stars having same system address
Fix for not being able to purchase ships even when player has enough money tied up in their current ship to part exchange
Added resource loading failure reports
Added telemetry to help investigate why resource overlays sometimes get into a dead state

Server updates
Players should once again be eligible for their own stock allocation of rare goods instead of sharing one with everybody shopping at that Station
Outfitting shops throughout inhabited space should now stock a greater variety of internal modules
Start creating news articles when minor factions change state in response to Commanders’ actions and inactions.
Minor improvements to server reliability, user presence and matchmaking

I do like the part about news articles related to player actions. Anything to increase the background simulation or highlight a player’s impact on it is great.

I flew to Lave today. Made a bunch of kills in neigboring Riedquat. Back to lave to cash em in. Loaded up on lavian brandy. flew ‘down’ until i met empire systems. Cashed the bounties I had in the empire. logged off. Tomorrow i will fly to Sol again to sell the brandy. Gonna make a killing on it.

I had hoped pwning pirates left and right would up my combat rating. But it hasn’t budged from ‘mostly harmless’ yet. My commercial rating is at ‘dealer’(rank 4? penniless - mostly penniless - peddler- dealer, yea 4) and my exploration rank is ‘mostly aimless’ too. I reckon that’s gonna take a while to raise because with only the basic exploratory equipment that shit goes fucking slowly.

Funding goal $100 which is enough to buy a new modem/router and hence fix the problem, hopefully. Stretch goals: at $200 I will buy a separate modem and router because jpinard told me this was better, at $300 I will feed my old router to Smaug, at $5,000 I will travel to the UK and have a stern chat with David Braden about offline mode, at $50,000 I will take Smaug with me.

I think if you put a picture of Smaug up with that, you could meet your kickstarter $50K goal within 48hrs especially if you link it off the Elite forums ;-)

Lave is a good hub for me as well.

Too much ganker drama at Sol for me, but I did head there at one point just to sightsee.

I know you’re joking, but I also know that you’re not. There’s a very real possibility that it would fund. I’m not sure that Smaug is ready for the UK weather though. Still, it would be a great story…

So I just now discovered (thanks to the Star Citizen thread) that this game is a far along as it is. Are they actually releasing a playable game in 12 days (12/16)?

For those of you already mucking about in the beta, does it look as glorious as the videos on the website? Can you do all the stuff shown such as trade runs between systems, bounties on NPCs, answer calls for assistance from capital ships, etc.? How is it running on the average system?

If this game is at all playable for it’s coming release it is going to the top of my Christmas list (of things to buy for myself since my wife is a non-gamer).

My joystick arrived yesterday so as soon as I catch up on my Dominions 4 turns and play a few more game club scenarios, I am determined to finally get past the 2nd tutorial and get to the real game!

yes. you want a joystick. preferably a full on hotas set because when the oculus consumer version hits, its an essential bit of kit.

re the tutorials, you do not need to finish all of them but you need to be able to finish the docking, travel and easy dogfight one.
