So excited for this to come out. Need to dig out my TrackIR. Haven’t used it in awhile!

Quarter to Three! It’s made out of people!

I’m hoping it comes out on Steam. I like all my games to be accessible through Steam and not have to hunt down websites/patches etc.

The game has a launcher which delivers patches and can take you to the website/forums etc.

it isnt and it won’t. not for the forseeable future at least.

people who have pre-ordered, you do know you can already access the training scenario’s do you? So you can play elite while you wait the 6 days until you can play elite. Use it to tweak your settings just so. You want your controls all in the right place. Make with the pewpew so when the game proper hits, you can pew with the best of them.

Ah well, ok then, I’m just going to get it now.

Okay, well, it’s done: empurchased. Thanks a lot, jerks. ;)

You’re welcome, you’ll love it. :)

Saitek X52? I already have pedals. Looking for a throttle and a new non-FFB stick. More likely to play space sims than jet sims over the next few years.

Purchased. Now if only the Oculus Rift could fast forward itself…

Gratuitously awesome launch trailer:

I decided I can’t afford Elite:Dangerous because yesterday was my mother’s birthday and I forgot to send a card and when you forget to send a card you need to send flowers, which are expensive. So I ordered flowers online but before hitting ‘purchase’ I googled for a coupon code and found a thanksgiving discount code that should have been expired but it wasn’t, and when I punched it in it gave me fifty percent off for a savings of $49. Which is only one dollar less than the pre-order price of Elite:Dangerous, and hey, its like found money.

So now I have E:D and my mother has flowers (and a box of chocolates).

:)

Yeah, the real draw for me is the linear campaign with its deep story in offline mode. I mean, I really hate open-ended sims so this should be a breath of fresh air.

Well, thats almost nothing like the gameplay in the game itself, so not sure why that is awesome?

I keep feeling like the marketing arm of FD tries hard to show one type of game that they think people will want (Star citizen MMO action type) but the game is being developed in a completely different direction.

…??

It’s still a great trailer.

I was wondering too. Is he talking about a different game?

I’m pretty sure he was being facetious. :)

It’s a cinematic trailer. A slick sequence of dogfights compressed into a minute and a half designed to promote the game and catch the eye. There’s plenty of gameplay footage online, but that’s not what this is for.
