Musk has very little regard for PR. He famously get rid of the entire PR team at Tesla as well.
And realistically he doesn’t need it. Media slavishly report every word he tweets anyway.

Well, he didn’t need it until he owned a company that’s completely reliant on PR.
If you’re an asshole who sells cars or launches rockets… people care about cars and rockets.
If you’re selling a place for advertisers to put their brand… people care about how you run stuff.

Unless you’re a narcissist who thinks the reason advertisers are fleeing isn’t because of the stuff you say, but because they are slaves to PC culture.

They’re illegal. Google, Apple, Intel and Adobe already got successfully sued for secretly agreeing not to hire each other’s employees.

It was under “Sol Invictus”. Since then he changed it to “stillgray” - last post was in '14 looking at the account.
Is Twitter built with Scala? The Tesla guys use C and Python. Because they have to write real code.

Non competes are doubly illegal and unenforceable when you lay someone off. However, NDAs are still valid.
If you’re a charming bon vivant the world loves, the media slavishly reporting your every word is free PR.
If you’re 2022 Elon Musk melting down in public, berating your potential advertisers, arguing with your users, etc., having your every word reported isn’t free PR. It’s pouring gasoline on the inferno of your own company.
Musk is his own worst enemy. The best thing for the financial bottom line of both Twitter as a company and Elon Musk personally would be for some loyal underling to shoot him with a tranquilizer dart and check him into an Internet addiction clinic where he has no Internet access for about six months.
That’s it. Like I said, his handle here always reminded me of the title of that Vic Davis game. :D
OMG. I never actually made that connection.
Hah! I remember him! Had no idea that’s who that was, either.

I agree with you, but nobody in the world can convince a narcissistic sociopath to shut up.
In Scandinavia and elsewhere there are “dementia villages,” where patients with dementia live in an environment designed to be as much like a gated residential community as possible, with little condos, shops, a town square etc. The thing being, the gate keeps the residents in, not others out, and many of the “neighbors” are medical staff. The idea being to give the residents the feeling they’re living independent lives to reduce their stress, whereas in fact they’re living inside a bubble of 24/7 supervised care.
I’ve often wished there was a similar “social media village” where narcissistic sociopaths could be exiled - a singular social media site, the only Internet site the narcissists could access. But nonetheless, they would be allowed to spew their most noxious garbage there. Musk and Trump and Kanye would be the first enrollees, sending out a zillion tweets a day. And every time they did, they’d be bathed in a constant flow of approval from their millions of “followers.”
Except all of their followers would be bots, and (this is the crucial thing) no one in the outside world could see or react to what the narcissists were saying, because only the patients would have access to this gated, bogus social media site.
(I guess Truth Social is almost this. But unfortunately Trump remains stubbornly aware that the real world exists, and Kanye and Musk are yet to sign up.)

I personally could use one of those villages right now. :p
Tries to leave P&R, wonders why the gates are locked.

Hé came over from RPG Codex; he had done some of the site designs and they gave him admin rights. That did not end well and ended with him being kicked off there. His name there was Exitium if I remember correctly.
